Default youtube audio question

Does JD2 convert from youtube to mp3?
If so, how to download as audio?

At first I have to download all files, then convert with some third-party tool...

correct, its always been that way. youtube has never offered "mp3", as they are a video website so video containers/volumes and codecs.

raztoki - Can I choose very low video quality (smaller size and faster download), or does it also affect the audio bitrate quality?

depends on the source, yt offer many different audio bit rates.
just keep in mind that mp3 is a loss based codec so you will loose quality, so starting off with poor audio quality will result in even poorer quality.

my advice is dl m4a in the highest quality and then transcode that.
