Will JD2 JAR File run without JAVA on Win 10
Hi JD team,
Sorry if this Question has already been addressed ... I searched different ways and I didn't find anything close to my Q ... After 12 years I was finally forced into getting a New Laptop ... since my 2006 Vista Laptop does not get anymore updates, and Browsers are super slow in it ... so I got a pretty inexpensive Windows 10 laptop. Q1: Can I run JD2 JAR version on my windows 10 without having JAVA? Q2: Is JAR a more of Portable version of JD? BTW, I am not a Techy ... Thanks! G!

a1) no jar requires java run time (jre) to execute., but yes if you use an installer it will provide its own JRE within jd install path. It doesn't install system wide, just for its own use. If you use jar method, jre probably wont be provided.
a2) theoretically all versions of JDownloader are portable (expection of mac .app), just copy paste the install path to another device. Believe the update system will fetch the libraries it requires when switching OS. raztoki
