I do have it installed that way but the pain is in starting it up everytime over ssh. Now i need SU to do it via script after last update. I was hoping to get the package to be able to start the jDownloader much easier.

You can also put script into autostart. Do you restart your NAS that often?

I have a power schedule. anyways, I was able to install the package with Oracle Java v101 but nothing happens when i start it. I mean there is no jDownloader instance visible in my.jdownloader.org and no nohup.out file in .root. Any ideas?

edit:also no java process running on my nas as if downloader never started

Hallo,

mfg

@BartSz: I can offer you a teamviewer session, send an e-mail to support@jdownloader.org

@jiaz

Daher danke an alle dafuer! :-)

@Cr4z33: is your post about JDownloader on Synology or testing RAR5 support? What CPU does your NAS have?

I'm sorry but we do not have a compiled version for arm yet. We have to wait till someone with arm hardware will/can help in compiling it. I will update this thread https://board.jdownloader.org/showthread.php?t=71069 once I have a version ready

Me again.

I've put the JARs anyway in my NAS JD installation and everything seems running fine like before.

However I can't see anywhere mentioning about RAR5 (i.e in the Settings) so how can I find out if it's now actually included or not?

@Cr4z33: Extraction will only work in case your NAS got a X86 cpu. ARM is not yet supported. Easiest way would be to test a RAR5 archive
I will ask Marco to include the version info in webinterface as well

You can also check the logs folder yourself and it will show the support or not. (after next core update)

So after skipping a couple of Synology DSM Updates I decided to update it (had DSM 6 previously).
As usual jDownloader breaks. So Installing it through the package manager results in a "stopped" jD.
Installing it via the terminal (someone posted the instruction on the last page) results in:

Quote:
Restart Required
| JDownloader Updated and restarted itself.
| The process restarted itself and runs now in the background: 9631@localhost
| If you do not want JD to restart itself, use the -norestart switch
So it seems to be running - but there is no jDownloader in the package list. What to do?

Login via ssh/putty. go to your JDownloader folder
cat JDownloader.pid
kill the process with given pid
then start it manually and you will see more output. I guess it is asking for logins on console or something else.

My JDownloader download speeds with Premiumize are very low. Always 70kb/s. If I use the premiumize webloader interface I can download in fullspeed. Any idea? My Java is up2date.

Please make sure NOT to use ZeroVM Java version. Synology installs those by default and they are 80-100 times slower! Please use install oracle/openjdk/azul jvm.

Ok I red that in other forums. It would be great if that helpful hint will be posted in the first Post.

PS
Is this version the right one?

Can't tell. Never did it myself (don't own such a device). But simply try it. You can check java version in Settings section in Webinterface of MyJDownloader. In case it tells ZeroVM then its still slow version.

Jepp, the Java version from the original Synology package is:

Operating System Linux (LINUX 32Bit) (arm 32Bit)
Java 1.8.0_101-b13 (32Bit) (headless)
Oracle Corporation OpenJDK Zero VM

You can also try to install JDownloader manually (without using 3rd party package), see https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...bedded-devices

I upgrade my Synology Java Installation. Just click on the Java application on your DSM and follow the instructions. After JDownloader restart I have:

1.8.0_111-b14 (32Bit) (headless)
Oracle Corporation
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM

PS
Ahhh now everything works! Fast download and even faster responding.

**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**

NimroT

guys, can anyone advise how to proceed with Java? I managed to add the link mentioned in first post to the packages, I even managed to install Java SE Embeded 8 but if I want to run it, it always stops automatically.

I have DS215j with DSM 6.0.2-8451 Update 7.
