Can't queue links while offline
With the prior version I could put links into the download queue even if I am offline (to start later). I find that the new version will not move anything entered from the link grabber to the download queue while offline.

How do you start up jD 0.5. when offline? I can't even start up jD 0.5.917 when offline. After the installation of jD 0.5.917 I discovered that, even after disabling updates, jD still wants to go to the update server.
If you deny access to the internet with your firewall, because jD now hides like an anonymous javaw.exe, then it doesn't start up at all. I've never seen this with any other application. Only malware shows that type of behaviour. With v.0.4.936 I can easily do what you want to do. It starts up and you can add links, remove links, etc. without being connected to the Internet. |

Hmm i think this is not how the developers wanted it.
I set the prefix to "in progress" but just that we don't forget this thread^^

Not sure what happened to the "in progress" marker. Maybe your change didn't take?

My internet access is sporadic and I sometimes clip discussion forums containing links and might decide while off line that I plan to download something.

Hmm that's working for me though, I got a text file with a bunch of links from a friend, I was disconnected from the internet & I added them to LinkGrabber, and eventually to the download window without problems.
When connected to the internet again it checked the availability of the files & it could start downloading.. (I even restarted JD to make sure the links were really added) |

There are enough websites where one can test whether links are active or not. That's not the issue.
I've several download programs. I can launch them all without being connected to the Internet. I can also add new links, manage my links, etc. without being connected to the Internet. |

I solved this problem by unchecking "Check link info and online status" in the LinkGrabber preferences pane under Interface preferences.
