Default Can't open Jdownloader

I was downloading normally for a couple of days and today when i clicked Jdownloader,a pop up comes which says ------- "A Java exception has occurred".
I tried again and again,it said the same thing. In firefox plugins, there it showed as Java need to be updated.I updated Java and verified it from the Java site.It said i have the the recommended Java installed (Version 7 Update 25).

Still i can't able to open Jdownloader. The same pop up comes which says ------- "A Java exception has occurred". What could be the problem ?

please try

close all programs that might use java
uninstall java
restart operating system
run javara (to make sure all previous installed javas are removed)
install java again.

Actually i removed Jdownloader and installed again, then it was fine.I have a question.I noted that we can backup links.Last time i successfully backed up the links when i installed Jdownloader again but it is not the updated one.So i have the backed up links but have to update many things in JD.Is there any option to backup the updated Jdownloader too ?

copying configs/ folder would restore the previous session 100%

both jdc and (configs|backsup) are stored within hssql db. if you have come from sub java 1.6.0 _26 you could have data corruption as oracle messed with java.

What is jdc ?
There is no folder called as jdc.Are you saying Jdownloader as jdc ?
So if any problem occurs in Jdownloader, before i delete it i should copy the config folder and when i install the Jdownloader again then i should paste this config folder in it so that it would restore the previous session, right ?

Wrong
*.jdc is a backup container in legacy versions of JDownloader.
it's based on the same hssql db wich is used within /configs/

So when you update java from sub java 1.6.0_26 to something newer you can risk corruption with any hssql database.

putting the version of java aside

if you want to try and restore jdownloader, try extracting a backup/*.zip and place it into config/

if it works it works , if it doesn't its most likely corrupted.

Now i noted a different problem.. The file i was downloading is like 600 mb and i have downloaded 283 mb till yesterday.Today i was resuming that download, the file was downloaded at over 300 mb and the power went off in my home and when it came back, the download is in the same 283 mb as it was yesterday.I once again resume that download and again power went off sometime and when it came back, the download is in the same 283 mb.This has never happened before. So why it is not resuming exactly from where it was stopped when the power went off ?

The one different thing i did yesterday and today is,sometimes i backed up the downloads list. Before i rarely do that.If you backed up the downloads list like 3 or 4 times a day,can that give any problem ?

Is it because that i backed up the downloads list like 3 or 4 times which gives the problem for not resuming exactly from where it was stopped ?
