JDownloader will not start - WinXP
Hello
After applying a large number of windows updates (~150) to an XP machine I am unable to run JDownloader. Prior to applying these updates JDownloader ran fine. Background is I had an old XP machine that had not been used for 18 months because of an operating system problem. - I did a Windows Repair Install which fixed the operating system problem. - Then I applied Windows Service Pack 3 and installed free Avast anti-virus. - I then opened my existing JDowloader, updated it to the latest version, and used it successfully. - Next, I applied all the missing Windows Updates, and now JDownloader will not start. - I have updated my version of Java and tried turning off some of the Avast scanning features without success. I can see the Java executable running Task Manager and it is using about 50% CPU, but no JDownloader user interface appears on screen. I would welcome any ideas on how to proceed. Thanks for your time. |

Check If the windows firewall is not blocking JD or Java, or try to reinstall JD using another installation path.
