Default Anyone else having trouble with TakeFile this week?

For five days now, TakeFile links work properly in the browser, but give me trouble in JD2. Only one or two links will connect every few hours, but for all other links, I get an error message that says "wait xx:xx minutes" or "takefile cannot connect at this time". Account manager is set up properly with plenty of paid bandwidth. Password is correct. And again, once every few hours, one or two links will connect, letting me know that my settings are correct - but the vast majority of links will not start.

In browser, links start right up. Any idea what the problem is?

Example links:

27.02.19 09.29.03 <--> 27.02.19 09.55.35 jdlog://4364676935451/

Please let me know if you need a different time-span log. This problem is about four or five days old now, and this log is only for the last half-hour.

By the way, no problem with other paid hoster (Turbobit). Only TakeFile is not responding to JD2.

Error is caused by Cloudflare:
>You are being rate limited<
The owner of this website (**External links are only visible to Support Staff**www.takefile.link) has banned you temporarily from accessing this website

I would reduce max downloads. Looks like you're having many links in list and JDownloader trying to download them all and cloudflare protection kicks in and then results in temporarily ban

Default Few or no dowloads, lots of errors

Hi

I have the same issues, getting a few downloads, then JD comes with an error. Sometimes it says that I'm out of download space, sometimes it says temporary problem with hoster, other times I see a counter counting down from 1 hour to next retry. On the hosters list it tells me I have 35GB of available download space...

@poul6963: try to set max downloads to 1 and then slowly increase downloads and check if that helps

@Jiaz: Thanks for answering. I did that already Monday, no change. Now JD says Download from this host is currently not possible?

I have now also decreased chunks to 1, let's see if that changes things :-).

Can you set max downloads to 1 and max connections and wait some time and check again.
best would be to restart JD (fresh log session) and then create new logs as soon as the issue shows up

@poul6963: Thanks for the log. It's very strange because I don't see any error but I see the waiting
Could you please send me some example links and username/password to support@jdownloader.org so I can do some tests

Settings-Accounts, the account does not show any error and still enough traffic left, right?

I will use your suggestion, but please help me understand ... Is there difference between setting max downloads to 1 versus setting max downloads to 5 ... ? Even if I set it below 5, the minimum number of downloads that start is always five.

I have always assumed that there is no point to setting max downloads to a number less than five. Five is the lowest number I can initiate at one time.

How do you start the downloads? You hit the play button, right?
Because setting max downloads to 1 will make JDownloader ONLY run 1 download at the same time. When you rightclick and start/force Downloads, you can manually bypass the global limit and start more.

Sounds like you're starting via Rightclick menu, don't you?

Yes. To be honest, I have never used the play button before. Somehow I got into the habit of only using right click and force start on a folder. I'll try the "normal" way (for the first time!) since now I've learned that's how to start only one download at a time.

Force will bypass download settings/limits and try to hit plugin settings/limit. This will cause many downloads to start at the same time and also ignore your limits.
The Play/Start button makes JDownloader download the whole list and not just the selected (via rightclick context menu) items It should be the default way to start downloads

Please set max downloads to 1-2 and try again with normal play/start button

Okay ... here's my "report" for anyone else dealing with this. After four days of being locked out, my TakeFile account reset itself and is working again.

Today, I started with one download at a time and after a few minutes increased by one more. I waited a few minutes at a time and got up to max download 5 ... and at 5 I got my first error message. I pulled it back to 4 and now it seems to be working properly.

So my personal experience so far is that if I keep TakeFile on max downloads = 4, then it continues to work. Five and higher means you're asking for trouble.

By the way, I contacted TakeFile support repeatedly over the last few days and they refused to acknowledge my emails. So they were not willing to fix the lock-out I experienced and they would not credit my account after their protection software caused me to lose several days worth of downloading bandwidth.

I've used a lot of hosters over the years. I will never understand some hosters' poor customer service. If TakeFile had answered my email and offered me a few extra free days of downloading, I would be back to buy another premium subscription.

Now, there is NO way I would use them again.

Update ... one hour later.

My TakeFile account shows 18gb available for use.

I've been downloading a maximum of four simultaneous downloads.

AND NOW I'M LOCKED OUT AGAIN !!

Beware users. TakeFile is a worthless hosting service.

No - I definitely recommend you stay away from TakeFile. I sent them repeated emails asking for help and they ignored all of them. After I sent another one saying that I would be asking Paypal for a refund, they just now BANNED me from further use of my account.

Definitely not a quality company to work with.

Do whatever you can to see if the files you want are available on a different host.

Thanks for the feedback. I've limited max downloads to 4 (for the moment) as this was the number of working links for you.
