Default Cannot install JDownloader 2 - No access to internet?

Hi,

I'm trying to install JDownloader 2 but during the "Download Version Information" step it keeps getting stuck and repeatedly prompting me with a No Connection to the Internet prompt, and says that the updater cannot connect to the internet. But I do have access to the internet, I can go to this board and ask for help. lol

After trying to save my IP address on the dialog box a couple times, it shows a new error: "org.appwork.updatesys.client.defaultimpl.http.NoConnectionException: org.appwork.utils.net.BasicHttp.BasicHTTPException: java.net.SocketTimeoutException: connect timed out." It points to an error log but the file is blank.

I have no clue how to solve this. Please help?

most likely caused by your antivirus / firewall software blocking the installer from making an internet connection. This because base installer can contain optional adware, but we have also seen them block the installer without optional adware.

It's been covered on our forum numerous times, you will need to either
- make exemption rules within security software which allow installer access to the internet
- disable antivirus/firewall software
- uninstall antivirus/firewall software

If your still having issue and your using the base installer from homepage you can try the installer without the optional adware from jdownloader.org/jdownloader2

In case you still have issues and even the adware free installer fails, please contact us via support@jdownloader.org so we can help you via Teamviewer

Thanks for the replies. I am using the adware free installer. I'm only using the default Windows Defender. I tried turning real time protection and the firewall off and the issue still persists. I'll contact the support e-mail.

Thanks!

Solved via Teamviewer. Something blocks the update server, we moved to different one by modifiy the hosts file on windows.

Check this support article:

Also check if your firewall/AV scanner is blocking anything JD related.

I wouldn't recommend this to other users!
How did you find this kind of solution?

Google my friend. I don't find any issues with this process. I'm up to date, its just that windows Update files will be re-download from Microsoft Server
