Question Download catcher

An explanation, in the past I used FreeDownloadManager and that program has a function where it catches downloads in browsers (when you press a download button the download goes to the download manager instead of downloading it via the browser)
Is this possible in jdownloader? (jdownloader is much better than fdm)
If not, is this a possible to add?

Such a feature does not exist, yet. But we have it on our todo list and I asked Marco to work on a first version of the feature as soon as he can.

Any updates on this? I think this feature is essential.

Waiting for an **External links are only visible to Support Staff**issue to be resolved by Mozilla.

Current problem: It would be possible to intercept requests with certain content disposition headers. But it generates a situation where the user can not choose to open with MyJDownloader, but once the extension intercepted the request, he has to handle the download with MyJDownloader or it is dropped. The extension would basically override the default behavior with no possibility to fallback for certain downloads.

I'll have another look into it next month.

Fortunately,
such a feature does indeed exist.
Its a chrome addon.
Try it out

Its called: 'Download with JDownloader' LINK

This addon catches all the downloads from chrome into JD.
Remember to enable "Allow access to file URLs" from the addon menu.

Rest you can configure yourself, its very intuitive.
You may choose to export browser cookies too, for cookie-enabled downloads.

I hope, this would serve to resolve an old ticket, and trim the list of pending tasks by 'one'.

@DJwa163: We're still working on this feature but we have more advanced feature in mind and that's why it's not finished yet. But I've asked developer to also implement basic feature as soon as possible
