All-channel-videos download works again with account enabled. Just tested before and after update.

Also my cookies "expired" bcs I was hitting rate limits, lowering down max simultaneous downloads fixed the issue.

Stay awesome

20.05.24 18.40.49 <--> 20.05.24 18.43.20 jdlog://6003411370661/

Since the latest update, all youtube vids are slightly corrupted after download.

1. View **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**
2. Download with JDownloader2 (no yt account necessary, but same problem with an account)
3. Open the video in VLC player

Expected: The video plays like a normal video.

Actual: The video flickers ~5 times before starting.

I've downloaded the same video with another downloader tool and it does not have this issue. Every vid I download with JDownloader2 has this issue.

@academyoffetishes: there has been no updates/changes at all to yt or anything download related. also you didd not state which format you did download (format, container, resolution...) and it's important to check if the *another downloader tool* did download the same variant with same format/container/resolution.
Pay attention to codec as this video is also available in AV1! AV1 requires lot's of CPU when not GPU support is available. Video flickering sounds more like VLC->CODEC-> Hardware/driver issue. VP9 and AV1 working fine here on VLC 3.0.18, I could not reproduce any issues

I'm having the same issue as Wheezer from the previous page, i.e. seemingly random videos will refuse to download due to "File not found" errors. Since they haven't replied with their own updated log, I will present mine in the hopes that it helps solve the issue.

Sample links are HERE:
**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**

The log file is HERE:
24.05.24 19.31.49 <--> 24.05.24 19.34.33 jdlog://0803411370661/

An image of my JD2 is HERE:

Default Client not grabbing links and lagging

A few months ago, my JDownloader kept running into errors when downloading from YouTube. At first it I could fix the problem just by restarting the downloads it but eventually it became less effective (it would quickly run into errors again or require several attempts and client restarts), and the client itself became extremely laggy to the point of freezing up. At this time I was still able to download from other sites.

I gave it another again today but now I can't even grab links from YouTube. I tried another video site and it just started to freeze up.

Appreciate any insight into what the issue might be, thanks.

Sounds like your setup runs out of memory, see https://support.jdownloader.org/de/k...vmoptions-file
Do you have many links in list? can you please provide a screenshot of the about dialog?

Any update on the File Not Found issue? Anything further that I need to provide that may help?

@MarqFJA87: I can see the issue in log but still unknown what is causing it or how to reproduce it in order to fix it
Remove/re-add of the link does fix it?

No, it doesn't. The weird thing is that when I first add the video to JDownloader's LinkGrabber list, it has a green checkmark, but if I try to simply change the video quality before I add it to the download list, it bugs out and claims "File Not Found".

Oh, and for the record, I can download the description and subtitles just fine.

if you get file not found is because you using to much connections
i personally use 5 downloads and 5 segments is perfect
i queue hundreds of videos before sleeping i wake up with all downloaded just fine, dont over do those

i mostly watch roguelikes lets plays because sometimes i leave the videos in the background pr watch them on my phone offline ; the streamer entertain in a certain way not too serious and get some funny moments

Hi

Having issues with Utube plugin settings...

I want the linkgrabber to grab 720p, 1080p, & 1440p. No matter what settings I enable in the settings it will only grab 1080p. If I disable "grab BEST mp4" or any of them, the linkgrabber grabs nothing. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks

Default Download von YouTube bei Altersbeschränkung

Ich möchte das Video mit dem Link
**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**
herunterladen. Error - Hu 4PgSXbDY [Alien 40th Anniversary Short Film Containment ] Sign in to confirm your age". Wie bringe ich JDownloader bei, dass ich berechtigt bin?

Works fine here.
Maybe it's Google again doing A/B testing?
So far your YT slow speed report is the only one we got.

After testing a lot of things (network rj45 and wireless, downloading good by firefox and smartphones, etc.) I found the solutions: it´s about ipv6. If you disable the ipv6 on Win 10, jdownloader works fine with Youtube. With ipv6 is so slow like using VPN.
I don´t know for sure if it´s about Jdownloader, Youtube, my PC or my ISP. Ill keep investigating.

Thanks for your feedback.

Apart from the system settings, you can also change that setting only for JD see Settings -> Advanced Settings ->
Code:
InternetConnectionSettings.preferredipversion

Tried that solution to see if may help with my own issue; did absolutely nothing. The weird thing? A couple of days ago, that YT video that I presented previously as an example of the problem suddenly became downloadable like nothing was amiss; that said, the problem still persisted with several other videos.

@elrafaargentino
I just noticed that we're already covering that in our slow downloadspeed troubleshooting:
https://support.jdownloader.org/de/k...-downloadspeed

@MarqFJA87
We didn't change any YT related code so whatever caused your issue to go away, it wasn't us

Default Audio Language

A few videos Ive tried to download I get with none English audio, I usually just download the audio on it's own and remux it with the video.

On the video below though the separate audio I get is also not English.

**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**

How do I force English in either the original video download or separate audio download?

Sorry for the late response. Yeah, that seems to be the problem - I have this:

Usage: 240.44 MB - Allocated: 247.50 MB - Max: 247.50 MB

I checked your link and tried to follow instructions to allow more memory usage but the change doesn't seem to be registering in the program. This is what I have in the "JDownloader2.vmoptions" file:

-Xmx800m
-Dsun.java2d.d3d=false

When I opened it, it was:

-Xms64m
-Dsun.java2d.d3d=false

There's also another file "JDownloader2Update.vmoptions" that has the same thing in it.

@Spellbound
At this moment it is impossible to select a preferred audio track, see comments some pages back in this thread.
Use other tools as a workaround or wait until we find time to implement multi audio track support.

@datahoarder
Ignore the vmoptions stuff for now and just follow these instructions:
https://support.jdownloader.org/de/k...loader-is-slow
(TL;DR re-install JD with the new installer.)

I want to keep YT filenames unmodified, but characters like pipe (|) and fwd slash (/) are replaced with underscores. Is there a way around that? If not, would it be possible to make it an option for mac/linux users?

/ is protected/forbidden char as it's path separator of the os, hence auto replaced as the package name can be used as part of the download path.
all reserved characters are getting replaced, see learn.microsoft.com/en-en/windows/win32/fileio/naming-a-file , to provide cross filesystem/os compatibility/portability
I'm sorry but there are no plans to change this as it breaks compatibility/portability

how can i make it so that vp9 is the preferred codec unless av1 is available in higher resolution?

example
if there is a 8k video, i want it to download it in the highest resolution, if vp9 codec is not available, download with av1 codec
if there is a 4k video, i want it to download it in vp9 unless av1 is the only available codec

and is there a way to sort by codec in the linkgrabber?

@Soporius
While the information in Jiaz' post is correct, we are planning on releasing an update which will 'preserve' those characters to some extend by replacing them with other [allowed] characters.
See for example the following thread:
https://board.jdownloader.org/showthread.php?t=95411
EDIT

Addendum:

If you are really keen on keeping e.g. the pipe symbol there will be no other way than to first download the file [with the new handling], then use an EventScripter script or external applications to rename them back to their "original name".

Yep, that's why I mentioned making it an option, not the standard... i.e. a check box in the advanced settings that's off by default.

Do you mean that a specific 'illegal' character will be replaced with a speicific 'legal' character consistently? I have no problem with renaming post-download, it's just that currently I don't know exactly what character '_' is replacing.
