JD2 should remembered the path. Make sure the value of the advanced setting FFmpegSetup: Binary Path is saved.

In the column value, make sure that JD2 has the path where you have ffmpeg, and check if such path is remembered.

Ive downloaded the latest build as of Jan 14/2014.....I've updated to the latest static ffmpeg build, given the proper merge location etc......

And I am STILL getting "error has occurred, plugin outdated" on any and youtube videos,

plus whenever i goto grab a utube vid it only grabs 720p at best even if I have it set to grab everything.

Should be remembered by JD2. If not, check if you have enough permissions in the path where you have installed JD2, the same for ffmpeg.

I am not sure if it happens only with some concrete videos or it's general.

I already downloaded ffmpeg some versions ago and it worked fine when needed for downloading youtube videos.

Now it's giving some trouble: I select location and it asks for it some minutes later again. when the Youtube download starts an ffmpeg process launches but dies on the next second, then JD asks me again for location.

don't know if you've solved this already but... for stubborn youtube vids, I download it directly in Safari. Use the Clicktoflash extension that allows you to DL the flash videos that it can convert to HTML5.

yea i found it was hidden but its in this path ... is it okay or shall i move it to program files

What happens again with Youtube?

I have this list of undownloadable youtube videos from 1 month ago, most of them ARE NOT VEVO videos.
Any of the JD2 updates in 3 weeks has fixed this, what happens?

All the videos on my list are 720p and 1080p



Most of the Youtube links can't be downloaded in JD, the issue is not only with Vevo videos.

I'm having trouble using JDownloader 2 to download videos that are "age restricted". When I use the linkgrabber, it comes up, but says the video is "offline" (when it is clearly not... since it's there). Regular videos work fine.

My JD2 updates automatically so I believe it should have the feature, unless I'm missing something. Thanks in advance for the help.

Youtube videos cannot be download as jdownloader tells me that youtube plugin is out of date.All updates have been installed plus I reinstalled jdownloader and all updates again.
I think the problem is java edition cause after updating java the youtube problem came out

Ok I just noticed something today......in the advanced option on the ffmpeg binary path line the little blue ? is greyed out.......all the others r blue........but I have correct path for my ffmpeg set.

What could this greyed out thing mean?

That was it. I don't remember having do that in old JD... Those threads I referred to also make it seem like you don't have to login to download age-restricted videos; maybe refer them to this from those threads so people know they have to put in account information. Regardless, it works. Thanks!

Is not greyed out here. I think your installation is corrupt, because I have seen that you have several problems with JD2.
Please make a backup of the folder cfg, then delete the original folder, start JD2 and check the problems that you have reported before in other threads.

I would do that (del the cfg) but I just have too many links right now that i would lose. I will try that once i get the list cleared a bit

I was one of the people who reported the 1080p and 480p problem with Youtube videos a while ago, and I just wanted to say thank you for finding a solution. I know a bit more about how it works now, and I think your workaround is brilliant

EDIT: I've just noticed a new update after posting this message and seems that the update solved the youtube problem!
my videos has started to download, but the video list is big to know at the moment that if all the videos are gonna be downloaded at all, but the first videos has started to download... that's a good signal.

The Youtube problem is now fixed (at least in my case), but the youtube links progressbar is wrong, when the videos are at 95-99% the progressbar value resets to 0 and starts downloading, and any information about muxing with ffmpeg is shown, something is wrong in the progressbar information, but the videos at least are downloaded ans muxed correctly, here is a video showing the progressbar problem:

This is because JD2 shows a progress for the video at the first time, and then when it changes to zero JD2 shows the progress of the audio.

I had to fix my ffmpeg installation, and let JD2 do a special youtube update......but after that my youtube music video downloads r running great!!

Please make sure you have the latest update and check that you have "null" in value of the advanced setting: FFmpegSetup: Binary Path.
If you have not "null" reset this setting.

Then delete the folder logs, and the files:

I did as suggested and restarted JD2
but now all JD downloads are crawling at less than 3kbs !
It isn't my main connection as speedtest.net now still tests my speed at around the expected 5meg so something isn't right with JD.

I have problems getting youtube links on linkgrabber after the latest update. After I add youtube links nothing happens in the linkgrabber. My youtube plugin is set as to download only MP4 format, so every other formats are unchecked. I also checked/unchecked all other media types but same problem occurs.
