Reinstalling from the JDownloader2 website gets blocked by both Malwarebytes and Kaspersky. I reinstalled from an older Webinstaller but now all my links and my premium accounts do not show up any more. JDownloader2 says it is up to date.

Can you please help? Is there anyway of recoveing the "lost links" and the premium accounts?

Very strange. JDownloader2 has worked flawlessly for more than a year.

Thank you.

I did search the board but only found old instances where this had happened.

Sincerely,

racast53

False Positive by Kaspersky. Please report a false positive from within Kaspersky.
Did you make a backup of old installation before installing it again? If yes, we can help you trying to rescue your old settings/links

Dear Jiaz,

I will report it to Kaspersky. I was horrified it just deleted the program without notice.

How can I rescue the old settings/links?

Thank you very much for your help!

I have found downloadList499874.zip and linkcollector35265.zip in C:\Users\Ramon\AppData\Local\JDownloader v2.0\cfg These two files have a timestamp just before Kaspersky deleted the program. One is 102MB and the other 25MB. Can these help me recover?

you can either
drag/drop or open container those files in JDownloader2, that will merge/import
or
you move those files into your current cfg folder and rename them to have the highest number. WARNING. this will override your current lists. Close JDownloader before doing this

Kaspersky has been deleting my JDownloader2 at least 3 times automatically since October. I have it on my Windows PC. It just did it again today. I have reported it several times to Kaspersky but they insisted that the Trojan warning against JDownloader2 was correct.... according to the tech support as well as two moderators on Kaspersky's own user forum.

What do I do now? :(

either uninstall Kaspersky and choose something that doesn't false identify.
or make exemption for JDownloader so that Kaspersky doesn't scan/touch it.

And don't forget to report it as false positive. Funny how they insist about a Trojan Warning without any evidence. I'm very sure it is their behaviour detection and that sees JDownloader downloading files from sites (some are even might be blacklisted by kaspersky) and then archives might be *dangerous* and so on.

I said long time ago bye bye to Kaspersky because of too many false positives.

I switched to Kaspersky because the Norton Security that I was using gave false positives quite frequently. That was back in July. Now Kaspersky is doing the same thing....

I think you're right, both Norton and Kaspersky might be seeing certain websites that I'm downloading with JDownloader2. Those websites must be on their Trojan list.
