k2s Check if file is present in Download Folder BEFORE request it to Filehost
Hi,
Would be nice if JD check if the file is present in the Download folder BEFORE request that file to filehost. I note what the current behavior is: - JD request the file to Filehost. - JD begins to download the file. - When JD try to write the file to Download folder it realize what that file exist. - Pop Up windows appears asking action with that file. Sadly with this behavior some filehosters (K2S for example) deduct the COMPLETE FILE SIZE from user quota. So if you try to download a 5 GB file you downloaded before, that 5 GB are deducted from your daily quota even if JD don't download a single byte. I KNOW WHAT I SHOULD CHECK IF I DON'T HAVE THE FILE PRIOR TO ADD TO JD, BUT SOMETIMES HAPPENS THIS STUPID SITUATION and would be nice if JD let me know in advance. Thanks! |

highly depends on your settings and hoster (if they provide verified filesize and or checksums) to compare against
settings > advanced settings > filter: mirror more on this, historically covered please do the following google search: Code:
mirror site:board.jdownloader.org

Thanks for the answer but I try all options (Safe, Auto, Filename_Filesize and Filename) for Mirror Detection Decision an none solve the problem of total filesize deducted from quota even when I choose: Skip File.
I think what mirror option is when you try to download the same file from different filehosters at the same time. My problem is when I have already downloaded the file and it is complete in my Download folder and later (days or weeks later) I try to download it again. If someone is trying to check this behavior please take in consideration what K2S deduct the quota only once between 24 hs.
That means if you download a file of 2 GB and before your quota is reset is downloaded again only 2 GB are deducted of your quota. Even if you download the file 10 times (always what your quota is not reset) only ONCE is deducted. When your quota is reset, if you download that file again hence is again deducted from your quota. I say this because if someone is try to replicate this situation please do this way: - Download a file (small if you don't want lose quota) - Wait to your quota is reseted. - Try to download the file again (without erase the previous file) - JD tell you what the file exist and if you want skip or rename. Choose Skip - Check your quota and you would see what the ENTIRE FILE SIZE was deducted. |

Hi,
there was a small bug in our k2s plugin which will fix this issue after the next update. In general, the default handling will work fine as long as JD knows a "safe filename" before trying to download -> This is not the case for all websites but for k2s it is. Your issue was not the mirror handling. EDIT If you are having the same issue with other filehosts that might not set a "safe filename", enable this advanced setting: Code:
