using "FFmpeg for Audacity" also for JDownloader 2 possible?
Hello
I had already ffmpeg before I installed JDownloader 2. I used it for Audacity. It lies in "C:\Program Files\FFmpeg for Audacity". But JDownloader 2 was not enable to find it by itself. JDownloader asked me, if it should installed it now, when I wanted to download mp3 from a youtube video. As I do not want to have installed ffmpeg twice, one for Audacity and one for JDownloader, I was looking in the settings of JDownloader, if I could somewhere choose a path, where JDownloader 2 can find ffmpeg. But I did not find this setting. Question: How can I use the ffmpeg which is already installed in "C:\Program Files\FFmpeg for Audacity" also fpr JDownloader? Can you please help me. Thank you. |

You can setup the path to ffmpeg and ffprobe in Settings-Advanced Settings- search for ffmpeg and ffprobe.
Either enter full name to binary via hand or via rightclick menu and choose the exe via dialog

Thank you Jiaz. It worked for me with ffmpeg.exe.
For what do we need ffprobe.exe? (This was not part of the ffmpeg installation for audacity.) |

ffprobe returns information about streams, eg required for twitch/HLS downloads. so JDownloader knowns how many streams/codecs/bandwidth....
