Default BBC iPlayer - season and episode applied to directory but not to file

Hello,

A couple of weeks ago jD2 modified its behavior during downloads from BBC's iPlayer - now proper title / file name is applied only to directory, but not to file.

Log: 23.07.22 16.21.22 <--> 23.07.22 16.24.53 jdlog://0661035302851/

Sample links (requires UK location):

**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**
**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**

Directory name created in JD2:
BBC iPlayer - The Control Room - Series 1_ Episode 2
BBC iPlayer - The Control Room - Series 1_ Episode 3
BBC iPlayer - The Control Room - Series 1_ Episode 1

File name in JD2:
bbc_The Control Room.mp4 (in all three cases)

Expected behavior & previous behavior (unfortunately I'm unable to pinpoint exact date, it was a few weeks ago):

File name in JD2:
bbc_The Control Room _Series 1_ Episode 1.mp4
bbc_The Control Room _Series 1_ Episode 2.mp4
bbc_The Control Room _Series 1_ Episode 3.mp4

Or something like that, where season and episode is part of the file name.

As there is no plugin for BBC iPlayer - I'm not sure what can be done about it from my end. Will appreciate any help. Thank you!

m

We haven't modified it but bbc changed what's inside their "<title" html tag

I've updated our plugin.
Please keep in mind that you cn alter packagenames and filenames at any point of time, also automated using Packagizer rules.

That's not true.
Without a plugin, JD would not be able to find any results at all for your example URLs
There are even settings for it, see Settings -> Plugins --> bbc.com

Apart from the above mentioned change(s), JD will also be able to download BBC subtitles after the next CORE-update.

Thank you! I will dive into Packagizer settings.

Those options are not available for all plugins but again you can use the Packagizer.
In the Packagizer article I linked you will find information about "plugin properties".
The following properties are available for bbc.com items:
  • title
  • date
  • brand
  • quality_identificator
  • videoid

Sure you can always use any information out of the existing filenames and "rearrange" that using the Packagizer.
Also, if a specific information is not available as plugin property, just ask and we can add it.

Thanks for your feedback.
