Cannot click on tabs and buttons
Hello
I have a weird behaviour with Jdownloader on Ubuntu 18.04. When I run the app, it's well opened, but I can't click on tabs and buttons. They change of color when I hover them, but clicking doesn't make the tab opens, or doesn't run the action of the button. For example, I cannot "Start all download" of collected links. I have tested left and right clicks. I test with 2 mouses and the touchpad, everything is fine, and works well in other apps. It's not in question here. I restart the application again and again (with or without rescue mode), it doesn't solve anything. I cannot provide a log file because I cannot click on the Help menu... I hope you could help me to solve this problem, thank you. |

What window manager do you use? Zip the logs folder and send to support@jdownloader.org

Do you use the default Ubuntu 18.04 desktop?
Just zip the whole logs folder. It's text and highly compressible to me this sounds like: -window manager issue -window manager - java incompatibility/issue -there is an open window somewhere/maybe outside visible screen and that's why the main gui is blocked

Do you have this behaviour all the time or just sometimes ?

Yes I use default Ubuntu 18.04 desktop, it's Gnome (sorry, I didn't understand you want this info).
I have this behaviour quite often since I use Ubuntu 18.04. When this is the case, most of the time restart the app is enough, but not today. I just sent your the entire logs. |

Are you sure that when this happens, there is no open dialog waiting/blocking? maybe on different/second screen? Because it really sounds like there is a dialog waiting and blocking the main gui.
Can you reproduce the issue or does it happen randomly?

I just check again, I have no other window. I use only one screen (laptop), I have only one icon in the launched app (I see 2 points when I open 2 windows of Firefox or Nautilus, here I have only 1 point).
It happens randomly, I don't know how to reproduce it. Yesterday it works very fine, tuesday I had the problem (solved by restart). |

You can help by doing the following
when it happens again, open shell/bash and change into your JDownloader folder and enter java -jar JDownloader.jar -threaddump then wait few seconds and close the running JD with kill PID you can find the PID in JDownloader.pid file then zip the logs folder again and send it to us. threaddump will make java log all threads/their states and maybe I can find a hint

Ok I will do that.
I just make a new test. When JDO is up, I saw I could change the tabs. Cool ! So I went to copy my links. They were collected, but when I try to push "Start all downloads" button, it was blocked again. So I used the app a few seconds, then it was blocked again , without any action or restart. |

I just tried to make a fresh installation, executing JD2Setup_x64.sh.
I have these logs : Quote:
At this moment, the language window appears (to choose English/German language). But I cannot click on OK or Cancel buttons ! I only can move forward by navigating with the keyboard. It's the same problem that I described in the topic, but here it happens even on the installation (I didn't have it at this moment the day I installed it). I hope this could help. Edit : even with the keyboard, I cannot finish the installation, because I change of button with Tab, and at the "Donate" screen, I enter in the textarea, and cannot jump to the next buttons because it writes many tabs in the text area :D Last edited by bohort; 21.02.2019 at 17:42. |

I'm sorry but you've provided the wrong session logs :(
You've started threaddump at 21/02/2019 15:32:34 - [org.jdownloader.update.launcher.SecondLevelLauncher(init)] -> Send parameters to existing jD instance and exit: [-threaddump] but the other log is from 21/02/19 16:21:25 In doubt simply zip the complete logs again and upload and send me again or try again and close JDownloader, delete the logs folder, start JDownloader normally and then try again. then the logs folder should contain 2-3 sessions to zip

The installer failing as well sounds like a more serious gtk/system issue.
see askubuntu.com/questions/342202/failed-to-load-module-canberra-gtk-module-but-already-installed

Hello
Since last week, I didn't see the same problem appears again. I didn't update anything (Jdownloader makes its updates when I run it, it's all). So I cannot say it's solved, but it's working and it's the only thing makes me happy Thank you for your help, anyway. |

We didn't release any updates that could affect this maybe an os/driver update?
Thanks for the feedback! In case it happens again, just contact us again
