since some of us work differently and like to manage our own folders, please add an option to delete file only. the current behavior is a problem to some of us...

Incomplete (.part) files can't be resumed from other links. This means that jD also removes the incomplete .part files when you ask to remove the link.

@TsunamiZ
A temporary workaround is to put a dummy.txt file in the folder. jD won't delete a folder that contains files. |

looking forward to the improvement, thanks.

Have to report on this severe bug of formerly unknown importance. It leads to JD deleting file downloads currently still in progress (Ubuntu 12.4 x64) and moves current downloads into nirvana!
How to reproduce: assume having a mirrored file, hosted on ashare.com and bshare.com. 1) Add both links to JD. 2) Click "play". 3) One download starts, while the other states: "not downloading because already loading from ashare". 4) OK, i do not need the link from bshare anymore. So far, so good. 5) Delete bshare link (not from disk!). 6) Delete operation cleans up still downloading file from ashare ("Unfinished files are useless" - WTF?!). 7) Download from ashare continues, finishes, but you have no more file, it downloaded into NIRVANA! Thank you for any investigation. |

I have the same problem as xAx, also on Ubuntu 64Bit.
let me know if I can provide any additional info to solve this. edit: just some further info: I dont think it depends on the hoster: You can add a file with multiple mirrors. Start downloading from one mirror. If download is in progress and you delete the other mirrors from the list, there is not file downloaded. Last edited by hiwi; 10.08.2012 at 20:45. |

It has been almost two years since the assignment was created, will it not be fixed soon? Like TsunamiZ, I find it extremely inconvenient that JDownloader deletes my folders without warning.

I've also just suffered a similar problem as xAx.
Having downloaded two sets of files from two sources with duplicates (10gb from each!), I deleted the cuplicate files that hadn't downladed and dragged the remaining files from one package into the other when the two sets combined made up the complete set. At this point, with no files being left in one package I assume JDownloader chooses to delete that respective folder. However, the actual completed files have no been moved into the remaining folder, so in effect JDownloader has just deleted the 10gb of files from one source. When you select 'Open Directory' on a file from either source, you just get shown the files from one source. I've hunted through the temp directory and can find no trace of the missing files. This is a pretty big bug that needs fixing as it can cause pretty big losses of data, without even a warning or any hint that JD is deleting things in the background!! EDIT: I guess this could also have occurred when I deleted the undownloaded blank duplicate files, as with aXa, that showed 0B, and undownloaded as a duplicate from bshare etc. Either way, very frustrating!
