Default Jdownloader never breaks 2 Mb/s limit

It seems that my jdownloader never breaks the 2mb\s limit despite me having a 15mb\s connection. Even if I am downloading from two services that I know let me download 2mb\s invidivually, if I try to Dl them at the same time, it will automatically drop the DL speed to both files to 1mb\s so that it stays under the 2mb\s limit.

Is this a limitation with jdownloader or possibly something on my computer setting this limit?

Did you set a limit in JD? Check your settings.
Can you download one of the file via browser with full speed? If no, there may be limitations from the hoster or from your provider.

Actually, it does look like it is limited to 2mb\s download even when downloading one file on JD and one on my browser. Hmm. I wonder what would cause that. Some kind of windows firewall thing?

is there a red line shown in speed graphic? red line indicates that the speed limiter is enabled. it can be enabled due to pause mode or you've manually enabled/set speed limit

some hardware like modem/routers have in built QoS (quality of service), this can apply rate limiting to ensure enough bandwidth goes around for each device on the network.

Nope, nothing like that on jdownloader. I think the issue is my router\computer\maybe even ISP. Going to do some messing around.

use network monitoring software (don't trust browser reported speeds or even JD for that matter).

compare two downloads using browser (browser typically do not chunk)
compare two downloads using jd with 1 chunk.
this will be a equal comparison, check the speed in network monitoring tool.

Do some testing with Hoster Files and Non Hoster Files.
eg update3.jdownloader.org/speed.zip
Maybe they limit/throttle speed for hoster services only or general speed issue
also
15mbit -> 1,8mbyte/s
2mbit -> 250 kbyte/s
maybe you get confused?
