according Uploadable Team, they are upgrading security features on their website and will therefore deploy "https" to all pages where possibly applied.

No, plugin updates are available mostly 5-10 minutes after developer commited the changes.
By default - updates for plugins are installed silently in the background. So, if you didn't change anything in the Advanced Settings - the new version of plugin is probably already installed in your JD
You can also "trigger" update by pressing update icon () from the Main Toolbar or by selecting "Find Updates" from Help Menu.

I tried pushing the find update button but nothing came up and I don't remembering altering any setting beside fonts to show chinese characters in the advance setting. I am still unable to login to uploadable.ch. I will try it again.

I think there is something wrong with uploadable.ch themselves. One minute it say account ok and then it will say invalid username before starting another link. I have to wait a few minutes and refresh the account few times to get it work again and then the story continue.

I am having exactly the same problem as TC stated but this tag is "solved".

So is it just me or the problem still remains?

I would like to report that I am unable to get JD to accept my Uploadable credentials. When I enter the username/pass (the same one that the website accepts), I get a JD error box popup, "Cannot add account because Invalid username/password"

I'm using the most recent build of JD2 beta (nov 1 09:29:01 CET 2015) and my Yosemite Mac has the most current Java runtime etc.

Is there something I'm missing? i've tried to input the correct user/pass dozens of times to no avail. Please advise what I should do next. Thank you.

Enable debug mode in advanced settings, restart JD, try to add account again, upload the log and tell us the log ID.

did what you suggested & still not working. so i created a "log." actually it looks like it's just a link.

so where to upload that to, along w/my user/pass? via PM? email to support?

how to "upload" to you is not specified. i don't think you mean to just leave it here in the thread, right? it's been quite awhile since i did this and i think the method has been changed from what i recall i used in old JD Nightly.

TIA

STILL WAITING for assistance. Can any other supporter help?

Where do I "upload" the log link and my login info to? I've already lost a full day on my UPLOADABLE subscription with the inability of JD2 to recognize my credentials.

TIA

yes of course i used that. it was referred to above in the thread.

although the graphics say nothing about how or where to "upload" to. in old Nightly it was done differently. i haven't used JD2 beta for this purpose until now.

anyway, i sent info to support@ and got a ticket.

thx

A ticket or a log-ID?
If you have a log-ID - post it here.

The "How to create a log" FAQ for JD2 should be easily understandable though ...

If you have a ticket, wait for response of our other supporters ...

not to be argumentative, kind sir, and I do appreciate your replies, but no, the "How to" is not entirely useful. It does not explain the final step. Yes, it illustrates how to create a log, and it gives you a graphic of how the generated log link looks, but the final step is not explained.

something simple, like "copy and paste the generated log link into the discussion thread" would close the circle and give the user the info they need. but it doesn't say that, and BTW from my POV it also doesn't seem proper to request the user to just to dump the log link into the discussion thread, for security reasons.

that's why i created a support ticket. but i think that the "How to" should be improved so that it is more clear. that would help avoid confusion and extra, repetitive and redundant calls for help. IMHO.

"3. provide the log id to your supporter."

uh, yeah.... who's that? where is he or she? how do i reach them?

no, by no standard is that clear or self-explanatory.

again, not to be argumentative, but sorry; no one at AppWork seems to get the idea of instructional design.

maybe that's why i've been so often infuriated with the plethora of issues I've encountered using JD. inscrutable is a word that comes to mind. that's a result of an inner circle of people never getting out of the box they're in and trying to see it from another POV.

software designers/engineers are no doubt brilliant at what they do, but they are, in my professional (and user-end) experience, horrible at communicating and documenting processes and functions to lay people. this isn't a personal attack, it just means that they are two different, mutually-exclusive, disciplines.

I made the jd2 log guide quickly, but I tried to keep it simple and to the point (supporter is the person who asked you for the log over what ever medium we provide (forum|email|support ticket system)). It could always be expanded, but at this point you're one of very few that seemed to make any comment or require further help so far. Their will always be people who require more help/assistance than one can provide within given example/guide. Clearly you are one of these people? Nothing wrong with that of course.

This has nothing todo with Appwork doing/influence of this guide.

Are you going to provide the log ?

The log can not be accessed by non supporter, so posting log ID here will be the best way, any "working" supporter can start to analyze it. Email at support@jdownloader.org will be opened at German working time, support ticket also.
