Default Huawei E173 HSPA USB modem

Hi,
I have a huawei E173 HSPA usb modem.
I've tried external and batch reconnects but my main problem is that the IP never changes.

My reconnect. bat code is

rasdial Mobile Broadband Connection /disconnect
ping www.google.de -n 8
rasdial Mobile Broadband Connection Taif Taif

I've also tried replacing "Mobile Broadband Connection" with "OMAN" with no effect.

I've attached images of my connection name and network just incase that helps.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cool

If your connection name contains special characters, including spaces, you need to put double quotes around the name.

Try "Rename this connection" and you'll know its exact name. (I don't think it is "Mobile Broadband Connection".)

Also check whether you've a dynamic IP address.

It is dynamic, since if I manually disconnect and reconnect I get a different IP.

I pretty much have the same issue as http://board.jdownloader.org/showthr...ghlight=huawei except that the script here does not work for me.

I'm using this reconnect.bat with Batch reconnect by typing "start C:\path\filename.bat" in the Interpreter.

There is no change with "Rename this connection", how do I use it???

To rename a connection, you must be an Administrator.

@ jayerfernandes,
I think your internet connection name is "Mobile Broadband Connection", but as remi said, you must include the quotes.

Hi,
I was reading up on ipconfig parameters. I noticed the following
1) DHCP is not enabled for my USB modem
2) Whenever I try to use the ipconfig/renew or ipconfig/release command, I get a message for my USB modem saying "The operation failed as no adapter is in a state permissible for this operation"

Is this why none of my reconnect scripts are working?

Is there any solution?

If your computer gets its IP address directly from your ISP, then if you set your network connection to use DHCP, and use ipconfig to change your IP address.

If your modem or router gets an IP address from your ISP, then you have to change the IP address of the modem or router. To change this, you have to use UPNP or find a command (such as restart the device) that changes the IP address.

The DHCP that is not enabled on your modem can be a DHCP server for the local network (does not change your IP address on the internet) or a DHCP client that talks to a DHCP server at your ISP. If it is a DHCP client, there should be commands to release and renew your IP address. It is more likely that it is a DHCP server to allow you to connect multiple computers to the modem.
