Default Not a JD issue, but could use any advice here

Reupped for an RG prem acct and having same issues as always. Cant get DL speed greater than 65Mb down no matter what I try. Both using JD and browser. I can get 350Mb down from uploader.net as that is the size of my pipe.

I ping RG and they provide their canned answer which is of no use that I'm posting below. Anyone have any ideas on to get any better throughput? Not using a proxy nor VPN - just a standard static IP connection.

RG response:

'Hello!

Check your Antivirus and FireWall setting and try to use Free download manager:
http://jdownloader.org/download/index
If you have any problem with JDownloader use the JDownloader support boards, search on "unable to write to disk" or "No permission to write to file", there are many posts.

Some of the recommended solutions:
- use less chunks
- allow java.exe, javaw.exe and jDownloader in your firewall
- unstable internet connection, contact you ISP
- reboot PC
- uninstall/re-install firewall
- uninstall/re-install virus scanner
- torrent client using too many connections
- uninstall JRE (java) and re-install latest JRE version

If you have any further questions, please let me know.

Kindest regards,
Rapidgator support representative.
Arina.'

Hi,
I don't even know why you're asking here as you've already gotten the correct answers.

My guess would be that it's either a routing issue or RG simply cannot provide better downloadspeeds.
Did you ever test it using a VPN or from another location (e.g. Internet connection of a friend)?
I'm afraid that all I can so is also linking you our basic support article regarding slow download speed...

@sparky123: are you talking about 65Mbit/s or 65Mbyte/s? Because a *normal* Server that is connected with 1Gbit/s cannot provide 350Mbyte/s. That would require minimum 10Gbit/s and that's very very rare! And 350Mbit/s would be 43Mbyte/s.
350Mbyte/s would be 3000Mbit/s connection?!

Also where are you from? near/far to RG server and how about uploader server?
Can you please provide a screenshot of your JDownloader about dialog? https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...tion-directory
Maybe speed is limited due to old java version and https, see https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...ng-downloading

My apologies if I was asking incorrectly. I was just wondering if the community might have some suggestions above and beyond the RG response. I know that speeds and conditions can vary are unique to the specific point. It's just that I get 350/Mbit/s down from UL and was hoping to get similar from RG. I dont mean to belabor the point here if it's for naught.

- I use a lil utility NedSpeedMonitor to monitor traffic and it is config'd for Mbit/s
- I imagine I am far from the RG servers as I'm in the States but didn't really check
- I am not using any form of VPN nor proxy. Just a static IP connection from my ISP which I also did provide to RG for any analysis.
- Attaching the About page as suggested.
- It appears I do have an older version of Java and will update accordingly.
- Interesting in that while I am not using any Synology NAS, I do utilize a Synology router but again, whatever the settings are for UL are the same for RG.

@sparky123: thanks for the feedback/screenshot.
And thanks for clearification about mybte/s and mbit/s

Please try the following as maybe it's caused by old Java/HTTPs issue. Backup your configruation, see https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...-configuration
easy: backup/move your cfg folder somewhere else
then uninstall JDownloader and install again from here https://jdownloader.org/jdownloader2
if your system is 64bit, then you should prefer 64bit version.
then copy/move back the cfg folder and replace the existing one with your backup (replace = not merge but replace it)
And then please check again.

Appreciate all the feedback @Jiaz but still the same. Performed all recommended steps and still maxing out at 70Mbits down. Guess it is what it is eh?

Again, much obliged for all the intel.

@sparky123: when you increase max connections from 1 to 2, does the overall speed increase for RG or stay max at 70mbit/s?
If you want we can take a look together via Teamviewer, contact us via support@jdownloader.org

@Jiaz, do you mean Max Simultaneous Downloads? If so, changing it makes no diff.

That's gracious of you to offer your support. I'll reach out accordingly.

@sparky123: max downloads and/or max connections/chunks.
if more downloads/chunks don't increase overall speed, then most likely the interconnection between your ISP and RG is maxed out/limited
