Default How to lower priority only (!) for extraction?

When JDownloader finished download for a big package it starts to extract the parts. During this time JDownload consumes most of my CPU power.
It is very uncomfortable to work on a computer during this time.
Everything is stuttering.

How can I setup JDownloader that it runs for download purposes with NORMAL priority while Extraction work should be done with BELOW NORMAL or even LOW priority?

Peter

Can you please provide computer specs? Extraction should not slow down computer in that way. But as I don't know your computer specs, everything is possible.
I just say that normal computer, there should be no stuttering/slow down.
Stuttering of mouse often is a sign of bad/faulty drivers or buggy hardware.Even when CPU is fully used, mouse should NOT stutter!

For CPU usage, go to Settings-Advanced Settings, search for cpu

Ok, I admit. Its not really stuttering but it slows down everything dramatically.
I have a 4-core i5 CPU with 8 GB RAM. That should be sufficient.

However I am searching for a divided priority customization for a) download vs. b) extract.

If this is not available: Could this feature be added in the next release?

Extraction need sometimes approx 1h for a 12GB download.

1h for 12GB, that is NOT normal, that is about 3 mbyte/s.......
Do you extract to internal disk or external usb2/3 or network drive?

Internal disk. My Computer runs fine otherwiese.
If I extract with external 7zip tool it last approx. similar time.

From your answer I read that there is no split priority possible for download and for extraction.

Can this be implemented in the next release?

Ah, you are talking about 7z archives or rar?
No, there is no priority setting for download as Java cannot influence IO priority.
CPU is not the limiting factor here.
Your computer should not have any issues with extraction at all.

Can we do a teamviewer session, so we can check this together? (send e-mail to support@jdownloader.org)

As extraction is single threaded and you're having a 4 core cpu, that should not cause any slow downs at all!

1h for 12 GB is NOT normal. 3mbyte/s is tooo slow!
