Default Adding link via Start Downloading doesn't start downloading

Was there a change in the last couple months that prevents links from automatically downloading after they're added?

From Linkgrabber I right-click and choose "Start Downloads". The link then appears in the download section but then must be enabled a second time, "Force Download Start", before it actually downloads?

I don't understand this new use model. Why are two actions necessary now? Or am I misunderstanding something?

No.

Is it possible for you to screen-record this and post it here?
My guess is that you either got more other downloads in your downloadlist which JD will try to download first and/or you've changed a related setting by mistake.
