hotfile plugin error (out of date)

I'am sorry but look, all you guys opened about 5-6 hotfile threads which i had to merge to one...
If you had searched for Re Captcha or captcha recognitions or just had a look at all the stickies you'd know that there is no recognition.
I'am attacking nobody here!

I guess I'm one of the few who tries a download in the browser if it says 'plugin outdated' lol. I saw it right away that they used Re Captcha, but didn't have time to mention this here earlier.
Since they use ReCaptcha now they suck for mass downloaders, time to move on to new hosters

if hofile is your main service you use to download stuff and use it every day, maybe getting a premium account? its not that expensive and it solves ur problem of unattended downloading. Just a sugguesting

hey guys, came across an interesting project that seems to have a high success rate in defeating some captchas:

Only issue is the implementation is done in C, hence incompatible with jdownloader. However it seems like they have some apis, so maybe JNI calls will work, i dunno though allso seems like some files have not been updated for 1 y+. But i guess any resource are helpful in this time, read it may provide some insight or not, i guess.

For people who don't know Google's reCAPTCHA project yet, please read this wikipedia entry :- hXXp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ReCAPTCHA

Hotfile is using reCAPTCHA and only OCR techniques more powerful than those Google is currently using will be able to solve this issue. As long as nobody has better OCR, hotfile will lose customers, because less people will upload their files to their host.

chintimz2 : Note that your links does not refer to reCAPTCHA as far as I can see.

It works in my version. Please update. If it doesn't work after you updated, please post example links and provide a detailed log.

Here are instructions for logging :-

1) Set logging level to ALL in Settings -> Basics -> General -> Logging.
2) Perform the actions that lead to the problem.
3) You'll find the log tab in ? -> Show log.
4) Click Upload log and post the URL here.

This looks like it might be the end of using hotfile links.
Jiaz maybe your can put a small message in the next jdownloader update, when someone adds hotfile links it can say "Anti-captcha no longer works for Hotfile, you will have to enter the captcha codes each time when starting a file"
then no one will like hotfile and no one will upload to them, they will lose premium payers which is what they deserve for doing this

Psp, since some people have difficulties with reading (and searching), you might need another big graphical sign or poster as you're using for asking link examples and logs.

The thing is just that...ColdOne for example thinks that a host is a good host as long as jd plugin and captcharecognition works...in some cases that's right but hotfile wants to make money so they can't just let everyone download with jd like premium users
...also we won't post this in the news because hotfile is just one of many hosters that jd supports...

Sorry i was unaware of the fact that premium users didnt have to enter captcha! I guess by logging in the site can tell they arent just some random person so, anyway, I didnt know. It doesnt make much sense what I wrote then, it was all based on everyone still entering captcha, just thought premiums didnt have to wait between files, and got maximum speed.

Still very selfish of hotfile to try and do this to force people over to premium where there isnt captcha ;p
In the end, if the free users (i think still most people) on boards like tehparadox stop posting hotfile links, then no one will DL from hotfile, not even premium as they wont find the links to DL anywhere ;p~


For me hotfile used to work where you only had to enter the captcha one time, then all files afterwards (at least for 12 hours+) would go without asking for captcha. I guess if your IP doesnt change, if knows you are human since u entered the captcha once correctly. But lately for me, I think its asking after every file. Anyone can confirm if this "cheat" is still working or not?

There is no "cheat" working and there wasn't ever a "cheat".
We just had captcha recognition as we got it for many hosters...
Also how did you came to the idea that premium users still have to enter captchas ?
Most hosters which got premium give premium users fullspeed, no captchas and no waittimes, that's because you pay for it.
Also i am sure that the people won't stop posting hotfile links...do you know why ?
They earn money with you downloading from hf so even if you tell them to stop using hotfile they won't stop

Problems With Your JD Hotfile Downloads? Please Read!!!

If you have not ran the Web Updater since getting the -pinky_7- Version 0.9.421 do it as soon as you can and restart JDownloader.

If you have not restarted JDownloader, you are sure you are up to date and you are not being promted to enter CAPTCHA for Hot File reCaptcha downloads, restart JDownloader and the manual method should begin working for you.

I was running this version since the first day it was available and then yesterday I accidentally hit the web update button. I noticed a bunch of plugins and/or hoster files being downloaded and/or changed - I could not tell. When that second module was done running, the first module (web update) finished with no updates available. Huh? Ok whatever.

I have been reading and reading and reading and still could not find the way to get the manual captcha entry to work so the downloads from Hot File would still be automated EXCEPT for the reCaptcha recognition. I don't mind entering the words and have accepted that I won't be able to download from Hot File automatically all night long. Premium Accounts don't have this problem - pay or move on!

I restarted JDownloader since I know I saw something changed, just to be sure, and sure enough - Hot File downloads now prompt me for the reCaptcha recognition.


FYI Some things to consider...

First Rule: Read the forums here for answers - Don't just post your issue and leave!...

Second Rule: Search this board...these guys have an incredible support mechanism and JDownloader is FREE!!!

Third Rule: Be polite! This product is free and is helpful to many of you, and in many cases for purposes that are, in all truth, not legal (downloading warez for example).

I have never seen such fast responses to anyone's posts on any support forum for ANY paid for product - anyone ever visited the Symantec Forums for Norton products or how about McAffee?

pspzockerscene, I wish there were such a thing as a virtual nice guy slap, you need to hand those out to the "newbies" or "lamerz" that do their support drive by and just drop off their issue and move on. My guess, these people are the ones nuking your web update server(s) by constantly hitting the web update button hoping for a hotfile fix that will never come (as long as they use reCaptcha anyway). A while back a forum I was a contributing member of had something called the LamersLounge and that was where all the idiot/stupid posts went. The room's comment was simple - if you find your post in here you either did not read the rules here. The rules included searching before posting
Maybe you could make a "nice guySlap" logo and add it to people's "stupid" posts, or consider a place to toss the stupid posts so that threads contain relevant information only making reading - for those of us that care more about what's going on than what we can download and how fast we can download it

I think DigiMahn's advice is very good. Consider creating :-

1) a sort of what DigiMahn calls a nice guySlap logo, that remembers people of the fact that there is a search function, and

2) a sort of spam forum where the threads containing no relevant info are dumped. Also disputes that lead nowhere and off-topic threads can be dumped there so that people can get rid of their frustrations.

Hot File is not using ANY CAPTCHA right now

I have tried new Hot File links (**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**) and old Hot File links (**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**) and everything is the same...no CAPTCHA!

Been that way since late last night (10 PM Pacific Standard Time) and still is. No news on the Hot File site, nothing I can figure out without being a premium member anyway.

It's been this way for a while now, consistently, so I thought it was different somehow. I have been downloading several files (not just one or two) from Hot File intentionally for 18 hours straight and that's how I caught the time.
