Default FFmpeg is missing!

Please help. It seems some time ago Jdownloader disappeared from my windows 7 PC. So I reinstalled it and now FFMEPG is missing.

Try the following. Close JDownloader and delete Core.jar and the folders update and tmp
When you still have the issue, please report back

Sorry for taking so long in answering back. I did delete core, update and tmp folders. I still have the same problem. Also I'm not able to get notifications for this thread. Thanks.

Please check firewall/av or any other tools on your computer
Exception: not a file:C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\JDownloader 2.0\tools\Windows\ffmpeg\x64\ffmpeg.exe
that error is VERY strange!

I have ESET and I don't think that it's firewall is doing anything to prevent ffmpeg from working (AFAIK). As I mentioned before I did reinstall JDownloader but it seems I now have 2 entries of JDownloader in my Programs List in my windows 7 PC. One is for 7/26/2016 and the other is for 10/10/2019. I do remember that a Trojan was discovered by ESET coming from JDownloader and it was deleted after being quarantined. On the 10/10/2019 I did install Microsoft One Drive and before that on 10/09/2019 I did install K-Lite Mega Codec Pack 15.2.0 and Grabit 1.7.5 (Beta Build 1016). I also am not certain how to look at the log myself and I couldn't find the path that you described.

In doubt, uninstall/remove all installations and do a fresh installation
Also check if you can start that ffmpeg.exe binary manually , eg open cmd.exe and drag/drop the file into it and hit return and check if it runs.

You can open the logs by yourself, they are simple textfiles. You can find them in logs subfolder of your JDownloader installation directory. Each start/session has its own log subfolder.
I can also offer you help via Teamviewer if you like, just contact me via support@jdownloader.org

How do I save my dl links before I uninstall jdownloader? Also I took every ffmpeg.exe I could find in the PC and did as you asked. I ran them through cmd .exe and they seem to work just fine and even the old ones.

All settings/accounts/links are stored within the cfg folder. Just backup it and restore/overide after installation. Thanks for testing the ffmpeg binaries. In case it still doesn't work, I recommend we take a look via teamviewer

OK. So after my last post and after I checked the ffmpeg I decided to reinstall ffmpeg when the next dialog post shows up. I usually don't do that because it didn't work lately but this this time I did and it worked. I was able to download with ffmpeg working. When you provided me with instructions on how to save the dl links I decided to do a fresh install since I didn't like the double entries of jdownloader in windows. I uninstalled both jdownloaders with revo uninstaller and then installed jdownloader again with ESET paused. Then jdownloader installed ffmpeg and everything seems fine now. Thanks.

just wanted to say thank you for the first suggestion; to delete the two folders and core.jar file. That solution worked perfectly for me for this particular problem.

@paravia: Thanks for the feedback. Can you just tell me what OS you were using when you encountered this issue?
