Sure, it is up to you how you want to customize filenames.

Right, but I cannot figure out exactly how to do that. How can I bring up a full list of dynamic variables for the Packagizer rules? Also, can the properties of each variable be edited?

Yes.
I've updated our Packagizer knowledgebase article accordingly.
See "Dynamic variables and plugin specific properties".
Here is a Packagizer rule that would modify instagram filenames accordingly for you.
Screenshot:

Please keep in mind that these modifications will only apply to new items added after creating that Packagizer rule!

Thank you so much for those variables! For years, I lamented the fact that I could not fetch the upload date of the pics and videos I have been downloading from Instagram. Now, not only can I do that, I have set it to create the filename exactly the way I want it.

Well then have fun with that
I'm glad I was able to help!

Regarding the other current Instagram crawler issues:
Please keep the reports in this thread.

Seen where? Where do I find this "download log"?

By the way I see just now that my rule for instagram disappeared. Was the packagizer updated or something?

By the way whay can't the tooltip show all valid variables, or some help button.
I would think that printing out the variables a the packagizer already includes would be a simple task.

@avada: updates don't change any settings or remove rules
and we do have plans to show tooltip with all available/known variables/properties depending on the plugin
