Default High CPU Usage (even when idle)

A couple days ago, my whole system was running slow. I opened up Activity Monitor and Jdownloader was using 50-70% of the CPU.

I shut down Jdownloader and started it again, and it immediately shot up to 30% of CPU usage, and would spike up to 50-80% as soon as I tried downloading anything.

I restarted the machine, let it sit for 10 minutes to make sure everything was fully booted, then opened JD again. Same problem.

I tried updating JD. No updates available.

I uninstalled JD, then re-installed it. Same high CPU usage.

Tried updating the newly-installed JD. No updates available.

Please help!

Thanks in advance!

Please provide a screenshot of your Jdownloader about dialog.
What MacOS Version are you using?
Did you change your keyboard repeat rate? We got similiar reports where high cpu usage can be caused by changed keyboard repeat rate.
