Default Memory consumption

Hi,

It looks like jDownloader's memory consumption is constantly increasing while running. A simple restart will dramatically decrease the memory usage without altering anything.

Before: 1.35 GB
After: 460 MB

Now, I don't know Java, but it really looks like some sort of memory leak to me...

Edit:
macOS, Big Sure

Thanks in advance,
M

In the linkgrabber tab I have 32 packages with 98 links visible.
If I turn on the hidden (disabled hosts) links, I have 320 packages with 477 links.

Cheers,
M

Okay this is not a high number of items so we can at least exclude this as the cause of your issue.
EDIT

Please post a screenshot of your about dialog (Help -> About JDownloader)

OP responded just about linkgrabber, so we assume no links in download tab?
memory can increase depending on ssl connections and respective bit rates.
also the amount of total connections max con * max chunks,
also crawling link can contribute as this can hold a lot of information in memory before adding links.
Javas garbage collection should reduce un-used memory back once no longer used.

There's currently 3 links in the Downloads.
No active downloads, no crawling, yet its memory usage already climbed up to 1006.3 MB in 2 days, more than double of the startup memory consumption.

And I actually have less packages (297/443) in the linkgrabber compared to what I had when reporting the issue.

Cheers,
M

Hi,

before restart: **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**
after restart: **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**

This displays much lower memory consumption than Activity Monitor (which is 474 MB at the moment).

Cheers,
M

Sure.
See:
https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...-configuration
or linklist (linkgrabber/downloadlist) specifically:

Does it work fine with a fresh config?
Most likely your JSV is running out of memory. Your linklist is big so a lot of RAM might be needed.
You can try to update your JVM parameters as described here:
https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...vmoptions-file
--> Try "-Xmx4g" or more

Nice,
It is back again after updating JVM parameters

increasing the max. memory to 8GB

my question is: what is the upper limit of the max. memory??
