Default reCaptcha Stopped Working

Edit by Jiaz:

It seems google is having issues with Recaptcha. It's not limited to JDownloader/Extension but also happens in Browser. We can reproduce the issue on our own sites (eg signup in forum here) as well.

You will find more issue reports with search engine of your choice.
Maybe connected to status.cloud.google.com/incident/cloud-iam/18001

The issue is not caused by JDownloader as JDownloader has no influence on the RecaptchaV2 nor taking part in it in any way. All Captcha stuff happens directly in browser between browser and google. No JDownloader involved at all.

Either there are issues at Google side (would explain why same issues happen with normal websites as well) or they are working on Recaptcha/applied new updates/tightened up the security, we don't know.

=========================================================
Hi there,

As of this morning, I am no longer able to solve reCaptcha using the browser extension.

After ticking the "I'm not a robot" box, it loads the reCaptcha box, however when clicking on the images, they change really slowly, taking about 30 seconds each to change.

And no matter how I solve the reCaptcha, it always says it was incorrect and loads another reCaptcha.

I use the Firefox browser extension, I have updated FF to the latest version, that has not solved the problem.

It appears to make no difference which hoster the reCaptcha is sent from, it doesn't work.

I have had this problem before, and was stuck unable to use JDownloader, back when ReCaptcha changed (late 2017?), which seemed to take a few weeks to be resolve and has worked for most hosters since then.

I would really appreciate some help.

Kind regards

I have the same issue. reCaptcha can not be solved. After correct solving it is starting over and over again.

Google turned up the complexity again. I've found that, when using JD (but not the browser directly) it now takes THREE rounds of captchas to get a green check. Somehow Google can tell the difference between JD's extension and a direct browser attempt.

Thanks for the advice.

Disabling browser extension and solving in JD worked for Fileboom and Keep2Share.

However, FileFox, FileJoker and Upstore are constantly running looping timers saying "Waiting for Captcha-Slot".

I'm having the same problem but with Openload links.

Keeps returning the message "skipped - captcha is required" in jDownloader status column.

Same here, endless loop of captchas as long as the extension is enabled. When I disable the extension I am able to solve the captachas but as long as the extension is enabled even if I do not use it the reCaptaches cannot be solved, I am presented with them in an endless cycle. Not the usual 3 or 4 sometimes, but really endless. I stopped after 10 mins of trying. Disabled the extension and I only had to answer 1 in the browser.

Openload captchas are 1. really slow to load and 2. unsolveable/denies right captchas. So that means (for a fact) that you can drop your jdownloader down a lava pit, till it is update or works again.

i have problems solving the captcha too, only the google ones from ul.to, oboom, filejoker etc. Rapidgator, Keepshare etc no problem. it keeps on saying "please try again" over and over. but no problem when entered from browser with extension disabled. maybe google made it hard for those using JD.

hopefully the next update will fix it.

Please provide logs, see https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...d-session-logs and inform on what hosts this do happen. I'm NOT talking about the slow/many captchas. I mean the *again and again* after you've finally solved the RecaptchaV2 and the captcha closes.

@Scythe42 @spevman @gandalf_grey91
The extension IS required to solve RecaptchaV2. Without the extension the Captcha CANNOT be solved. Solving within JDownloader itself isn't even possible, so I wonder what you are talking about!?!?

Slow and many captchas is nothing new. Loops after solving a captcha, that is new.

Okay, it looks like the issues are caused by google
You can google *funny* for it and will find many other sites/services have same issues
We have it on our own sites as well.

Problem is, the after the last JD2 update, it stopped working. I noticed it, because i work every day with captchas and after YOUR update of JD it went solving the captch like chewing gum. Too slow changing of the puzzle, causes problems with the error check from google.

@riker1971: There has beenn no update at all that is about RecaptchaV2 since months!
The Captcha is handled by your Browser alone. JDownloader has nothing to do with RecaptchaV2 handling/solving/showing. All happens within your browser.

There has been no updates plus we can reproduce the issue even without JDownloader on normal websites like our own. I've also read reports from other sites that have same issues.

But thanks for the blame!

Nah, there was a plug in update the same day, so was my first shot in that direction. (Murphy's Law) Thinking that google is unable to let their own captcha to be solved in their own chrome browser, was not in my mind. So sorry for my stupid accusation.

Nothing to be sorry for ! In the end, you couldn't have known better.

Please don't mind me being little annoyed when someone writes that the issue followed an update. Of course this could have been a bug due to an update but then we would have already fixed it and not let the bug stay active for hours

I guess it's either an issue or they are fine tuning/tightening up the security/preparing an update...

i don't think it's google problem

i tried to download a file from oboom with JD2 and it gives endless captcha loops, if i tried to do the same in google browser with JD plugin installed it gives the same captcha loops. i tried it in another browser, firefox without the JD plugin installed or chrome incognito mode (without jd plugin) and the captcha was easy.

i believe it is the plugin that is causing the problem. google maybe making it harder for JD users.

The browser extension doesn't kick in/is in use on normal websites and I doubt that there is a way to *detect* extensions without the extension want to be detected, else it would be easy to detect/block adblocker extension.
Also it happens for me with browser with no extension installed.

The issue is not the captcha loops. The issue is that many captchas will show up (more than usual) and even when marked as okay by Google a few seconds later those captchas are wrong again and that causes the plugin to retry and show up a new captcha round.

Using the extension in incognito/private mode *might* provide easier/less Captcha but that's not what the issue is about

Incognito/Private mode with the extension causes mine to instantly get blocked by Google for "Sending Automated Requests". The block usually lifts after an hour.

Default reCaptcha still an issue

I think this is compound problem

Captcha's increasingly impossible to get correct, is either Google problem or site setting security settings for recaptcha too high.

Does anyone have a customer support e-mail at google so we can start flooding them with complaints!! I just spent 20 minutes searching google support and came up with nothing.

Problem with constant looping is JD problem.

Upstore, Filefox (I haven't tried others) both loop even after getting green check when solving from JD. In browser, it takes 2 or 3 annoyingly complex tries but once I get a check, download is OK.

The Google reCAPTCHA group get more and more negative entries:
groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/recaptcha
Funny thing: If I click on this link from this forum, I get redirected to a Google Forum Overview page, not directly to the reCAPTCHA part. Copy & paste this URL in your browser and you will land in the above reCAPTCHA forum.

At least I can confirm, that I have the same problem when acessing a filehost through browser without any plugin but JDownloader.

Strange thing: When I try Recaptcha demo at https://www.google.com/recaptcha/api2/demo, I don't have any problem at all.

@invisibleman78: The referrer hiding service *removes* the anchor and that's why you'll land in forum overview

There are 3 types of issues:
1.) hard/many captcha rounds for a single captcha. even on normal websites
-> this seems to happen independant of JDownloader as I could reproduce the issue on normal browser usage myself without any extension/JDownloader being involved. But I could no longer reproduce it by today

2.) solved captchas returning tokens that google fail to confirm few secs later
-> this causes the *looping*. You solve a captcha. Google returns valid token. JDownloader wants to proceed and hoster validates the token and Google now tells the token is invalid. So new captcha... -> loop

3.) harder/more captchas with extension(for use with JDownloader) than normal download/visit in browser.
-> We're working on some ideas for future update of the extension and hope this update relieve the situation

Cant get it to solve in JD, how do you set that up. Disabled all plugins apart from open Captchas in JD, but no Windows pop out. I also reset all the window settings for JD, nothing

Hardly imaginable they caused that by accident and stay unaware of for a week. Probably it's a reaction to (left unset and therefore) tensed privacy settings regarding GDPR. If you don't love google, they don't love you either.
Used another browser yesterday (k-meleon) and got regulary solvable captchas (by claiming a new IP) -- until today.

I have that issue with some hosts but not all. Filejoker and filefox, mostly. What happens is you solve the 3 sets of captchas, and then get a plugin outdated error. The next link, 3 captchas, download starts, Then wait the delay time, same thing happens. Then I have to reset the links manually. But not all the time- sometimes the download works 1st try (after solving the 3 rounds of captchas).

I have never had the issue where the captchas keep looping. It takes many rounds, but I always have managed to get the DLs started. Biggest issue is that it takes so long to solve some that other downloads captchas timeout never having actually popped the captcha dialog and I have to unskip them. Which is an issue with some hosts that count skipped captchas against your daily limit.
