It seems you have a complex/slow pattern in search field in Downloadlist and JD has to check it on every (automatic) refresh

I've noticed JD2 taking up a lot of RAM myself. What do you mean by "complex/slow pattern in search field"? I'd like to see if I have something similar that I could change to reduce the amount of resources it uses.

@traverjg: djmakinera has put a complex regex into search field that's causing the cpu usage on every refresh of the download list.

Memory usage scales with number of links in list. The more links, the more memory JDownloader requires. By default Java is allowed to use max x% of system memory. You can check memory stats in about dialog of JDownloader.

There is no general rule of thumb where cpu usage comes from. Can be from limited/not enough heap memory and java spending all time with memory management. Can be crawling/collecing plugins....
