Unhappy My whole list of links downloaded is erased

Hi. The problem is that yesterday i was downloading as usual and today i saw my whole list of links downloaded is erased, I don't know if it's because the java upgrade which i read could be a cause (I clarify I have not made java updates lately)

I don't know if i can recover them by restoring the system (I use Windows 7) or if theres any file that could have a backup of them (may be on backup carpet or something), that list was very important and now i don't know what to do. I hope you can help me whit this.

What is the size of your database.script in config folder?
The backup is in backup folder.
As far as you can remember, what is your Java version? What version is it now?

Cool

@Paclanc

If it isn't because of a corrupt database or one that has become too big, just return to a version of java prior to 1.6 update 26 and all should be fine.

Also make regular snapshots of your links (Ctrl-B).

The size of file database.script is 964kb. My current version of java is Version 6 Update 29. Also, I don't know how to use the backups, there are a lot of zip files in the folder.

Thanks for responding so quickly.

Your database is small and I don't think it's the cause of your problem.

Your problem was probably caused by a java update. Just go back to java version 1.6 update 25, finish your download queue, and then you can update your java again.

If your problem was caused by the java update then you can't use those backups because they all have the same problem.

I did the downgrade of Java, but the links never appeared. What should I do now? Backups are worthless?

try extracting one of the jdownloader/backups/*.zip (sort by date and choose one of the newest files) into jdownloader/config/ . Keep trying until you get it back.

Thanks, I recovered my list. The size 964kb of the database.script was for the file whit the empty list. Now, the size whit the complete list is of 6.89mb, could this have been the cause? and what will happen when I upgrade java again?

Mine with empty list is around 700 KB.
Depends on how many links, under 10 MB might still be normal.

Java update 26-29 won't reduce the size, only won't display the links. Something else did, maybe it had been corrupted.

Try update 30, some peoples wrote the links stay visible (still need more testimonies).

I've never had corruption. Best bet is to make a dlc backup of all your links, upgrade your java to 1.6.0_30 and start with fresh config (rename config to config.old/ and start jdupdate.jar). Once clean configs are created and updated you can then reimport your links from the dlc. You shouldn't have any more problems going forward (touch wood). The corruption happened because oracle changed something within _26+ which changed values of stored data, thus corrupting it.

Have the same problem: an empty list of download links - after a restart of jDownloader (only made two interface setting changes)...

There seems to be a corruption with the
database.script
which is now as an empty download list 2mb big.

The newest and quite bigger backuped database.script, which still works, has a size of ~8mb.
My problem is, that it's one week old and a lot of important links would be lost...

My hope now is that in this 2mb file (which is big for an empty list, isn't it) is still content left and it is at least not totally corrupted.

So, could it belong to any (java) updates?
Pls help me, ...that's really frustrating..., what should I do for recovering?

Thanks!
