Real Life Scenario
I watch Mittagsmagazin on German television (ZDF). I want to send some of that to my friend in Ukraine as soon as possible. So, I don't want to wait, before it is available in 'Mediathek'.

As this broadcast is still available on ZDF's streaming website zdf.de/live-tv by going back in time, I could copy it from there by screen recording (not a good solution).

Is there any way to download a portion of that streaming broadcast from the past, e.g. 60 minutes back in time using JD?

Since the article is about 4.5 months old, maybe something has changed…
And if it would be possible, how do I go back in time and tell JD what to download?

@StefanM: Live streams are not supported yet because they don't fit into the current model/way how JDownloader works. There is no support to properly handle live streams like specifying start/stop, or schedule download of streams.
They often don't have a *start* or *stop*, may not be resumable. Also live streams nearly always use unsupported streaming format (for example HLS(m3u8) with split video/audio streams) and without that supported, there is not even a way to properly begin to work on possible support for this. Maybe situation might change once JDownloader does support the used streaming format but at the moment live streams are not supported.

Just take a look at GitHub projects yt-dlp and FFmpeg and more.

Our support article does not state that we're planning to add (better) livestream download support.

Before I dig too deep there...
Do you know whether or not 'going back in time' is supported by one of them, when using them to download streaming content?

As I said before, ZDF e.g. supports going a few hours back in time on their streaming page.

@StefanM: I can't answer that but you can also simply use VLC, open the m3u8 playlist and then use seek bar to *go back in time* VLC can also save to disk

Or do you know a way, to get it work, recording audio and video that is?

@StefanM: that thread is little old, maybe outdated. have you tried it? you just need to download the split m3u8 for video/audio and later mux them, but I'm not aware of any nice gui tool for this
