how too change to 7zip extractor?
hi,
how can i change current extraction method to 7zip? currently i can see in advanced settings: --> Extraction: Last working lib ID --> Windows-x86 which seems a bit slow for me, as i have newest 7zip x64 installed. Thanks Cheers Last edited by feiercrack; 15.05.2021 at 12:51. |

Hi JD uses a Java library of 7zip from 3rd party provider and doesn't use system installed applications. This is updated internally or via you, if you wish to compile or download a newer version of this library in the manner JD expects. There is 7zip/extraction thread on the forum somewhere =]

thanks for your fast response!
i just mentioned my installed 7zip to inform that i see the different extraction times... why is (my) jdownloader not using newest methods? why do i have to compile something? isnt there any newer, updated jdownloader version? and here i can find several threads about compiling somewhat, which dont have enough experience, and most answers are blacked out -.- |

@feiercrack: You might wanna use 64bit Java/JDownloader, see https://jdownloader.org/jdownloader2
backup the complete cfg folder and later restore it (do not merge but replace the new one) In many testings I could not reproduce any significant speed difference. JDownloader uses 7zipjbindinding which uses original sources of 7zip and unrar. Can you please provide more details about different extraction times? What archive type? what are your meassured times?
