Default After Download fails i get only 1 Chunk

Hi, sorry for my bad English.
I am using JDownloader for more then 2 years.
Today i install the version 2, but i got a strange problem, i believe that i am missing some setting.
I am getting some files from a server, my ISP is very poor so i use 15 chunks , the problem is that after lost the connection with the server (for some files) the JD 2 reconnect again but only with 1 chunk. In JD 1 i dont have this problem, after reconnect the files continues with 15 connections.
My English its bad guys, sorry for that. I cant share the liks here, its a private server.

Depending on the plugin it will have different behaviours within JDownloader. On failure some plugins reset download chunks to 1. directhttp plugin is one of those, and it behaves in the exact same manner within JD2 as in all other version of JDownloader.

I suggest you don't use so many chunks if your internet connection can not handle. JD doesn't deal with socket timeouts well on the chunk level. If one chunk fails it will take down the entire download. So the directhttp plugin for instance will auto reset to 1 chunk.

I do not recommend any more than four chunks. More isn't necessarily better, specially on a slow internet connection.

this behavior is really annoying some hosts have very slow threads and then you download 500mb of a 1gb file and jd decides to dumbly reset it and dl it with 1 chunk 5kb/s from the beginning.....

Sorry to reply to this old topic but I have the same issue and it relates to JD2 that uses hard disk badly not internet connection.
When I set chucks to 8, it makes HDD spikes to 100% then fails and uses one chunk but less/no issue with 4.
While there's no problem with IDM at +16 chunks. Using <8 chunks makes my download speed turtle.

JD2 should prepare the temp file first then start to download, that's all!
Hope you fix it soon... =| -> =)

Ah sorry, think I found what was the real issue.
I use VMware and was selected a public shared folder on my PC.
So I changed the JD download folder to the C: of VMware and no more problem
