Default rapidshare is not completing downloads

just started today. did a megaupload and mediafire with no issues. believe it's just rapidshare. tried on 3 different downloads, all stopped with a "download incomplete" status. haven't done anything to my settings.

Cool

Reduce Max.Con. (bottom right corner of jD window) to 1 or 2 and see whether that helps.

Please, allow java.exe and javaw.exe in your firewall and virus software. Also disable html/web scanner in your virus software.

If that doesn't work, un-install firewall and virus software, reboot your computer and try again.

It could also be the good old timeout bug, but Jiaz will need to confirm that as I'm a novice in these very deep, technical matters.

Having the same problem.

Used to work efficiently and 100% on XP SP3 with AVG, but now, I am using Windows 7, with symantec endpoint protection.

The problem is quite intriguing actually because I've noticed that the download starts normally with speeds swinging up and down (That's fine ) until it reaches a single solid, fixed speed and that's it! It stops downloading. It would be fixed at that speed and fixed at the "time left , or ETA " and stops downloading.

The download progress would not proceed normally.

Anyway, I have noticed this problem on Rapid-Share, but still have not tried other hosts, as my windows 7 installation is still fresh. But will report if any other sites promote the same problem.

PS: I have tried to set the Network adapter's "speed and duplex" to 100 Mb FULL, however still experiencing the same problem.

Please Help.

Thanks in advance.

OK, I've just noticed a new thing. Firefox and Chrome do the same thing !!

they start downloading just fine but then after 3-4 mins Halt !!they stand-still at one fixed speed and that's it !! ETA remains the same and does not change, download progress ceases.. And basically, that's it :( so download is interrupted.. any clue guys ??

Thanks!

what isp do you have? remove firewall/virusscanner and restart computer
also make sure you use java 1.6 update 17, NOT update 18 (remove it)
