umask enforced even though download directory has acl (linux)
Acls of a directory are supposed to take precedence over umask. Still all folders and files created by jdownloader seem to get umask permissions assigned explicitly, overriding acl thus resulting in permission problems.
jdownloader version: 0.9.579 system: ubuntu 9.10 Let me know if you need more info. Last edited by Jiaz; 18.03.2010 at 10:32. |

umask are set by os or java
jd does not know anything about those things! every folder/file that jd creates is with same user/group as you start jd with

Other apps I tried behave differently/correctly (touch, gedit, filezilla, etc.). I'll check jre/java and report back.
ps. user/group is ok, but setting umask permissions on acl folder is not, since it overrides default acl permissions. Last edited by masc; 17.03.2010 at 04:13. |

those other tools are not java apps
we dont handle umask ourself. its job of java to handle this and a short google search shows that it is a java issue.

do you have a link?
just did a small test with File.createNewFile(), it actually does behave correctly, no umask there. will check svn source next weekend. |

didn't look close enough, the problem is with unrar/jdunrar rather.
unrar will restore file attributes stored within archives by default. this is probably not desirable for most ppl, so -ai can be used to disable it. maybe an option in jdunrar settings would be appropriate, but I'd even opt for -ai by default. |
