Can't get JDownloader to open
I've had JDownloader for over a year and it's worked fine until today. I ran the updates when prompted and then later (an hour or two) I had to re-start the computer. Now I can't get it to open. When I double click on the desktop icon it will send something to the system tray but I can't open from there nor from the icon on the right hand side of the system tray. Actually if I right click on the icon on the right side of the system tray it will open but every thing is grayed out and nothing works when I click on it. Any ideas? One other non related question is that for file factory, fileserve, and filesonic JDownlloader will not read the capcha automatically, I have to manually enter it. Why is this? Thanks.

It seams jdshutdown is causing the problem. I deleted it (folder and jar file) and it now works fine.

You just need to deactivate it in jD's Extension Settings.

Done that, it actually gets Jd to open but gives a "plugin error" that doesn't allow to download..... any other suggestions? I'm doing a clean install now, hope that works |

Exit jD and start jdupdate.jar in jD's program folder.

I have the exact same problem...the standard JD worked fine yesterday. Today when I booted jd it is frozen and nonresponsive.
I've tried running the jdupdate jar which runs but doesn't change anything. Even deleted a file which update replaced but still unresponsive. Switching to Nightly...hope this is resolved soon. |

In order to know for sure what's happening, please, launch windows_createlog.bat or if you don't use Windoze, use the Emergency Log instructions and provide the two log files that are produced.

Found the problem...it is JDtray. I had it in use but since jd was unresponsive I couldn't disable it.
My solution was to delete JDtray from the Jdownloader plugins folder and then open jd and deselect JD Light Tray. Jd then prompted to update and reinstalled JDtray. I then reselected JD Light Tray and it now seems to be working fine. |
