Doesn't help. I've also disabled multi-segment download.

I would like to add another tool that does not work well with sparse files: FreeFileSync. I use this to sync my downloads to the NAS (ZFS on Linux with Samba).

For now, I'm just manually copying files to the server instead of distributing them to the right folder first (on my PC) and then using the scheduled sync task.
(No, another sync tool is not an option, I've literally tried them all).

I fully understand that the JD behavior is not a bug at all. Unfortunately it can be quite a problem in the real world where NTFS sparse is not very widely used. On the other hand, people with space issues can benefit from sparse files.

Adding the option to the advanced section shouldn't be too much trouble, you would probably just have to extend a couple of function definitions and add the entry.

Just for the record, this is the error message I get:
Cannot write file attributes of "W:\myfile.mkv.ffs_tmp".

Error Code 1: Incorrect function. (DeviceIoControl, FSCTL_SET_SPARSE)
(it uses temporary files for guaranteed complete copies, hence the *.ffs_tmp ending).

@netgearjd
I don't believe any of the sparse tickets mentioned within this thread are completed/closed.

Appwork is very busy with work that's not JDownloader at this time, I'm not sure if it will be done any time soon.
