Question Downloads don't finish and can't update

Hi all
I am having a problem on my computer with JDownloader at the moment.

I download a file, but right before it ends it claims "No permission to write to hard disk".
Let's say the file is 200MB, it will stop on 199.84MB and give this error.
Sometimes i can just force download and it completes the file, but most times it just keeps giving me that error.

I try to do a web update, but the bar at the bottom got stuck about 1/3 along the way, and just freezes there.
This morning i tried again, and finally got 70 updates available.
However, an hour into this update the components at the botom turned red, and it is still at about 30% only.

I attempted to disable my Antivirus, but it is still not solving the problem.
These files are working fine without JDownloader.

Any help please!

If you get a "No Permission to Write to Hard Disk" error, please consider these recommendations.

These recommendations will probably also solve your connection problems for the updates.

Note that disabling a virus doesn't kill it.

HI Hotstix ,

Same problem started last night for me as well , can also not update to latest plugins and downloads give the same error. I see you are from South Africa so am I , which ISP do you use ? I think there is a DNS issue with MWEB as regards to the jdownloader updates , I will try a different ISP and see if that solves the problem

Hello. I am with MWeb... more hassles than solutons it seems.
Please update us as soon as you have been able to test with a different ISP.
If it is the ISP, what must i log as a complaint?

Ok i have followed the steps exactly, but the same issue still occurs.
Could this be a problem with my ISP, or something in JDownloader that's not compatible with the isp's new settings?
Can anybody give me a suggestion as to what to tell the technical desk at my ISP?

I have added my log just in case: http://jdownloader.org/pastebin/53587

If you can download the files with your browser, then jD is blocked in some way. Please read my post #2.

If you can't download them with any other tool, then you should contact your ISP.

Hello. I have now tested this link:
**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**
and in JDownloader it keeps saying "connecting..." but in firefox it downloads perfect.
Surely the fact that i can't update JD either means the issue is there somewhere?
Nothing changed on the computer itself.

You should be able to update if you would implement my recommendations. Your updates are blocked. Take away the block and it'll work.

Seems better than it was....
MWeb had an issue with International sites, maybe that was part of it.

My dls are finishing.
Some are still not starting, but others are.
My updates are not working.

I qued a big file that was failing through firefox and it also failed on 100%
For some reason the smaller test files worked all the time.

So I assume the fault is with my ISP.. Again

Thanx anywayz for the attempted support.

If your updates still don't get through then they're still blocked. The best way to know for sure what's blocking them is to un-install software that might be blocking it.

@noemfie

I would also like to change from one ISP to another by simply reconnecting my router. Unfortunately this doesn't work in my neo-communist country with its telecom monopolies.

Everything seems to be working fine today.
It is only Filesonic that seems to have an issue, but that's on firefox as well.
Guess the case is closed.
