Default Make JD2 DL using more than "8" chunks for DLing?

Hi

Been noticing this issue for awhile, wanted to bring it up...

For quite awhile now JD2 seems to only want to DL using a max of "8" chunks for a DL. It seems to completely ignore the fact that its set to "12-15" and NEVER uses all 12+ chunks for a DL.

I know that some sites may be controlling the "chunks" used but could this also be a bug? And is there any way to force JD2 to use the max amount of chunks its set at? (12 or higher) Rarely have I ever seen it use all chunks...it used to though.

Thanks

dedicated plugins have settings to define upper chunk levels
these can not be overridden by users
JD dl core can not deal with connections over and above what the server allows, and any connection above that limit will fail and terminate all the working connections so that it can try again, which results in a loop of failure.
If you believe the setting is incorrect inside said plugin, please create a ticket for that service, provide working example links and one of the developers can test and confirm findings and make the necessary changes.

I just find it weird that ALL DL sites wont let JD2 go past "8". I have the chuck setting at "20" (for testing) but no DL ever even comes near 20. I guess it is the individual sites themselves that are capping everything at "8".
Weird that ALL sites seem hard set to 8. Funny that JD2 has a setting of up to "20" but no site will let the user use the full 20.

@MrGonzo: Did you test with *ALL sites* all several thousand sites ?! Can you please provide example links or names of sites, then we can check the plugins and tell you the limits.

Because the limit depends on account type and site and server settings. For example
k2s we have upper limit of 10 connections, ddownload has limit of 1 connection, rapidgator has limit of 5 connections. mediafile has 20 limit. generic http downloads also have 20 limit.

Well Jiaz....yes mainly it seems with all "tube" sites its capped at "8" and also most all DDL(Filelocker sites ie RG, ul.to etc) also are capped at "8"

In fact I think I can only recall one random time in the last 5 years with some random site cant remember was a big 1-4GB file allowed to hit the "20" chunks mark.

Just seems like 99% of the time sites wont let JD2 get past 8 chunks. And because of this I rarely ever see DLs DLing at max speed (that being 50megabytes(MB/s) ...most DLs seem to cap at 35-40MB/s with only 8 chunks.

I can't confirm that and for me it's even the opposite: Most streaming websites (especially porn websites) got "no limits" at all.

I've checked source and could only find 1 plugin that has 8 as upper limit. Are you using a multihoster service? those can dynamically restrict the number of connections. I'm asking because

Rapidgator for example is capped at 5 connections and not 8!
