JD Crashes when extracting
I have a couple of questions:
My JD crashes quite often when problems with extracting are encountered. It seems JD gets confused sometimes. It's been my observation that the download list says the file (Lets say 200MB) has been 100% downloaded, (After several resumes), but the actual downloaded size, according to windows explorer, is 118MB. That being said, as soon as the download list says 100%, it naturally tries to extract, can't of course, because half the file is missing, and then just crashes & disappears. (I've done the auto send of crash reports several times now). Long story short, if problems occur during extraction, JD flips the bird and disappears. 2nd issue, well, more of an ask for ideas/advice really, is: My download speed (as per test) is around 4800Kb/s (4.8Mb/s). Not huge I know, but that's what I have to work with. The most JD manages however, is 400-500Kb/s - way slow. Any ideas how I might improve this or what the bottleneck might be? I've disabled AV & Firewall (Dangerous I know). No diff. Could it be caused by my download site? I'm using Share Online. Very frustrating either way. Look forward to hearing from you. Dagnabbit! Even as I type this, JD has done a bunk again! Windows says 237.849KB - go figure. Just by the by - I've just extracted the file using winrar manually - worked a treat first pop, file appears intact, film runs. Ideas and suggestions welcome. THanks in advance for your time. |

Cheers for the answer - I take it you're referring to the crashes while extracting?
Any ideas as to the speed issue? I've contacted Share Online who have confirmed I am in fact in no way throttled. An online test confirmed: Last Result: Download Speed: 4293 kbps (536.6 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 638 kbps (79.8 KB/sec transfer rate) Latency: 25 ms Jitter: 1 ms Packet Loss: 1% Mittwoch, 11. September 2013 17:59:55 I just downloaded a test file from Share Online using Jdownloader: 100MB over 5mins at ca. 422Kb/s to 530Kb/s. My System: Operating System MS Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1 CPU Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.67GHz 48 °C Bloomfield 45nm Technology RAM 6,00 GB Triple-Channel DDR3 @ 534MHz (8-8-8-20) womanboard ASUSTeK Computer INC.
