Default Win8 "Moran Hoko" - Dialog ?

Hallo zusammen,

upd0.appwork.org/jcgi/JDownloader

Habe den Fehler auch.
Win 8 64bit

1. Copy this link in your browser: upd0.appwork.org/jcgi/JDownloader
2. Download and extract the content of downloaded file .zip in a folder, where you want to install JDownloader2.
3. Run the updater.jar

Default Unable to install JD2

I am having trouble installing JD2.

This is what I get first from running WebInstallerJD2.

Then this is the error I encountered after I tried to run the updater.jar

I hope someone can help me with it. Thanks!

We honestly have no idea what this should mean. Google cannot find anything about this.
  • When in the installation process does this message pop up?
  • Operating System and System Bitness (Like win8 64 bit)
  • Language
  • Installed Browsers (Chrome, firefox, internetexplorer?)
@tiestoycc: Would it be possible to look at this strange message via Teamviewer?

@PTBKoo Same to you. Can we do teamviewer and/or get further information?

Hi coalado,

can tell you this:

Last Sunday I installed Win8 64bit on a brand new system. After putting some programs on that system, such as Java, Flash and Firefox, I also downloaded JD2 from here:

http://www.chip.de/downloads/jDownlo..._55398241.html

When trying to install (just via doubleclick on it), I get that "Moran Hoko" Dialog instantly.

After that, i downloaded JD2 here: http://installer.jdownloader.org/WebInstallerJD2.exe

That version worked fine.

I am using Win8 64-bit. And I think I know what is the problem/issue already.

The reason updater.jar and the downloader is not working because they are put inside C:\Program Files (x86)

I guess Win8 doesn't like .jar files to be run inside program files. So I moved my .jar files into My Documents and VOILA! It works now! And they are fine. Now I can use the updater.jar and jdownloader.jar, both files are fine for installation.
