Default JD2 - New Update Service Rollout

JD2 new update service is currently rolling out to the user base.

If you are weary user, please take the chance to backup your JD2 installation (the install folder).

If you've disabled auto updates please, initiate a manually update.

If you have any problems please indicate so within this thread.

Thankyou

KNOWN PROBLEMS
Hamachi VPN service will need to DISABLE the VPN as it works from the 5.x subnet which our current server resides. Hamachi uses 5.x subnet for VLAN when it's actually routeable internet address. You will have trouble accessing any internet server that uses 5.x subnet. We are in the process of moving away from this subnet to remove ourselfs from this problem.
Please see _http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamachi_(software)#Criticism for more information.

original post message within
Spoiler:
Until future notice no updates can be pushed into JD2!

Reason:
Updates are not possible at this given time, as we are in the process of migrating to a revised update system. This will take a little more time before it's integrate into the -end user- JD2 Beta release.

Resolution:
JDownloader 0.9.581 and/or JDownloader -NIGHTLY- at this point in time have more current plugins.
Alternatively you can run JDownloader 2 SVN from within a IDE. Instructions/Guide for Eclipse (note: *.dlc features will not work)

Solve the jd.Main Problem:

Start JDownloader Update from the Windows Startmenu:

Or run Updater.jar or JDownloader Updater.exe in your JD Installation Directory

That's it

i have a major issue as I now actually have non of these (above images) and im quite concerned, i recently switched from the stable 0.9 etc and moved to jd2 a few days ago (for faster host update reasons) i downloaded the offline installer, and it did automatically update, however i have no
"jdownloader update " in the start menu,
no updater.jar or updater.jar or update.exe nothing like this in my jd directory??

im concerned because i can not do a manual update anymore!!

why is this?

regards

Same/Similar problem here:

The new update service worked fine. I then closed JD, restarted my computer and since then, I can't get JD to work again.

jdownloader2.exe won't do anything.

jdownloader updater.exe will open the update, tell me that I have the newest version and then close when I click on "start jd".
The same applies to "updater.jar".

Habe heute ein Update gemacht. Danach hatte ich Probleme bei Downloaden von den ARD und ZDF Mediatheken. Daraufhin habe ich noch ein Update gemacht und jetzt startet JD2 überhaupt nicht mehr.

I think I have a solution.

- run "Updater.exe" (so there is no available update)
- JD trys tu start with error
- rename folder "cfg" into "cfg-backup"
- run "JDownloader.exe" and wait while installing
- close JD
- delete new folder "cfg"
- rename "cfg-backup" back into "cfg"
- run "JDownloader.exe"

I tested 2 time and it works fine for me.

Thanks,
I couldn't find the "updater.exe" so I started the "updater.jar" and jdownloader started after updating again. Didn't have to rename the "cfg" folder or anything.
Before I had the same problem as Dosukoi.

Got the same problem, reinstalling java, JD2, using updater.jar, using missing files provided in the forum also doesn't work out.

Same problem after update. At first I had to throw out the old launcher manually. The new launcher (v3) just wants after start (also with admin) a connection to "update.appworks.org". I let him pass but nothing else happens, JD2 doesn´t start any more after the update.

Edit: Thank you hacker676...it worked and problem is solved.

workarounds are all and good, but we need to fix this issue, so please drop by the live support channel, so coalado can make sure all these issues are resolved.

So final Workaround:

  1. Delete cfg/versioninfo
  2. Start Updater.jar or Updater.exe or JDownloader Update.exe
