Post Import large .jd2backup file (1.5GB)

I want to import a 1.5GB .jd2backup file with thousands of links from my previous installation, but JDownloader can't do it properly.

Firstly I have searched the forum and I have realized that it is probably due to the limitation of RAM memory. In my previous installation when everything was working properly, JDownloader was normally kept between 600MB and 900MB of RAM, in some cases I saw that it reached 2GB!, now when trying to import the file JDownloader does not exceed 350MB and only the link collector is imported.

I have 16GB of RAM on my system, so memory is not a problem.

In your JDownloader directory you should find a .vmoptions file that you can edit with texteditor
remove any -Xmx or -Xms line and add new
-Xmx4g
to allow max 4gb of memory. for that large list I would recommend -Xmx6g

You have to use 64bit version of launcher/java, see https://jdownloader.org/jdownloader2 to be able to use more than 2-3gb of memory.

In case you need help/got problems, just ask

It seems that he was using the 32bit version. I downloaded the 64bit version from the link you provided and made the adjustment to the file you mentioned and it worked fine.

I assumed that from the https://jdownloader.org/download page the web installer would download the 64bit version on a compatible system like mine, but it didn't, besides that installer includes Adware.

In any case. Thanks for your answer and happy new year!

@Amilkar: Thanks for the followup. At the moment the installer on website only linkes to 32bit version. We will soon provide either auto version or both 32/64bit installer.
