Default Soundcloud link grabber shows large raw .wav files, but downloads tiny .mp3??

I can't find anywhere in settings to allow Soundcloud to download the raw file when I copy a link and in Linkgrabber list it is showing a song.wav of some 50MB file size, which I want, but then when I hit Start Downloads it will download some 3.5MB .mp3 of the song instead.

How can I download that raw .wav?

Hi gambino
I need example urls to check this.
It may happen then according to soundcloud, a file is officially download but once JDownloader attemppts the download there is a server error --> JD will fallback to the mp3 (stream) download.

I was not able to reproduce your issues using urls from the soundcloud mainpage.

Here are a couple examples: **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**

and **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**

Both show in Linkgrabber like this: **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**

Then download as tiny MP3s

Strange - I cannot reproduce this.
Soundcloud must be sending wrong information somehow - I cannot explain this to myself in any other way.

Also this makes totally sense as none of both tracks have official download urls.
This one has a "DOWNLOAD" Button:
Code:
**External links are only visible to Support Staff**
... which leads here:
Code:
**External links are only visible to Support Staff**
... which is a website showing multiple options to buy that track.

The other url only contains a SPOTIFY url:
Code:
**External links are only visible to Support Staff**
-->
Code:
**External links are only visible to Support Staff**
So clearly the uploader did not include an official download on soundcloud - at least not when I'm checking it via my german IP.

Please post a log.

12.12.16 17.31.31 <--> 12.12.16 17.35.35 jdlog://1310869150841/

Quick summary of all I did in case I messed up the log: I had those 2 links in my linkgrabber, I enabled the filous one, sent to download. The log selected was the correct one so hopefully it helps.

Definitly very strange but according to the json of his log neither he gets official downloads so the file he gets is fine - question is just, why does he get the strange filesizes- and file extensions first?
I cannot reproduce it and cannot find it in the log either.

@pspzocker: the log does NOT show the crawling process!

@gambino:
Please go to settings-advanced settings-search for debug, enable it and restart JDownloader
then add the link again and when wav shows up, create new logfile and post logID here

You're right I didn't linkgrab and log from the very beginning, my bad. OK I enabled debug in advanced settings, restarted JD and re-added the link, this should be the entire process:

13.12.16 14.10.11 <--> 13.12.16 14.10.50 jdlog://8480869150841/

My location is around Toronto Canada FWIW. And yes, I do know about the "download" links in some Soundcloud songs, whether they lead you to toneden, hive.co, etc. aggregators but again I am talking about the direct link from Soundcloud only here. Thanks very much for the help!

p.s. No I don't have my Soundcloud account info in the plugin settings within JD, in case that comes up.

I still don't understand why you get this json from soundcloud but basically this issue was caused by a bug in our plugin.
I've corrected that now and sorry - you will not be able to download the original .wav file.
Soundcloud does provide a downloadurl but it does not work and in the json of your tracks it says ""downloadable":false" --> No official downloads possible
As you can see the official downloadurl links to an empty page:
Code:
**External links are only visible to Support Staff**
After the update, your two example urls should appear as mp3 with the correct (lower) filesizes right away

[Please read]=>How/when do I get updates?

Update cycles depend on your installed JD version!!

Die Updatezyklen variieren je nach installierter JD Version!!

You can still ask the owner on Soundcloud
