Can you make one?

You might wanna check Settings-Advanced Settings-search for theme and try out the unsupported other themes. Or try to customize the colors. search keyword is laf

I just did that. Doesn't look too user-friendly

There is no official support for other themes, that's why those other themes are *buried* in advanced settings.

@Jiaz
it's been almost 3 years now since this thread was made. is there any plan to add a simple dark mode check box toggle to settings so people who want a dark mode don't have to mess with all the individual color options? I agree with fede, it's not very user friendly. having to change the color of various UI elements reminds me of the old windows 95/98 days. Modern browsers/OS just give you a simple check box or drop down menu for dark/light modes, be nice if JD just had an official dark mode option. |

I'm sorry but I don't see this happening in the near future.
Please be aware that we are aware of the high demand of a dark mode. Still at this moment all I can do for you is to point out this help article regarding a dark mode created by the community. -psp-

I have read thru the thread, and the other one for mac. I wanna just add my 2 cents that Dark Mode is not just a recent trend, but more of a necessity these days.
I am sure a lot of people would really appreciate if JD2 did something official with it that is easy to active, like a toggle in the settings. Its really jarring to be working with all other apps and browsers in dark mode, and then you switch to JD2 and suddenly this bright glare hits you harder because everything else is in Dark Mode and your eyes are not used to the glare. |

@lezboyd: as FlatLAF provides Dark/Light themes out-of-the-box, I will try to make the work properly with JDownloader. Currently it fails because of the *mix* of our own theming system and the one of FlatLAF. They don't work good *together*, so I try to not apply our own theming system with FlatLAF themes in usw. Can't tell when I will find time for this but this will be the best solution for alternative themes and proper colours

This is how my JD looks like with the FLATLAF_DARK theme and some tweaks. There are few color glitches, but overall it looks good.

@woolf: Yes, there is already community based dark theme based on FlatLAF, see https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...ark-mode-theme
The *color* glitches are caused by *mix* of our and FlatLAF theming system working at the same time

I know they exist, but I didn't like any of them. I wanted modern flat icons and uniform dark color.

Maybe you wanna share your customized settings? you can find the configuration file in cfg/laf folder. for each theme there will be a separate configuration file

It is my FlatDarkLaf.json. I hope it's the correct one.

@woolf: It is! Thanks. Do you allow us to share this file with other users so we can link in in our dark theme article?
