Did you activate your RapidShare Premiumaccount in JDownloader?
Is premium globally activated? Could you please provide a log? Regards, scr4ve |

Hi scr4ve,
There is a tick next to 'activate rapidshare globally' and the premium account is showing in detail under the 'settings' tab, with ticks in the boxes. The download speed is now switching between 6 and 10 kbs. Oh sorry to be sych a pain.... how do I provide a log? Regards Sarah |

Change Max Con=1. Unless you have a very fast connection, Rapidshare should fill your download connection without Chunking.

I've changed the max con to 1 and the speed still remains the same :(
I now keep losing the connection also! Do you think it could be my ISP provider O2? I have recently had an email stating they are teminating the contract as I have exceeded their download limit of 20Gb per month, twice in the last 8 months (might I add when I took out the contract they did not state this limit in the T&C, nor did they tell me what it was over the phone. And now they haven't answered my email yet!!! Plus I pay £17.50 as it is). If this indeed is the problem, can anybody reconmend a decent ISP provider for north wales? I think i'll have to go back to BT and pay £28 ish a month :( Last edited by sarahtnt83; 07.08.2010 at 23:56. |

It's possible your virus/firewall is causing trouble.
Allow java and javaw in your firewall and virus software. Disable (or un-install) the port 80/html/web scanner in your virus software. Although your fee isn't too high for that speed, your download volume is restricted. Aren't there any ISPs in North Wales that have unlimited plans? BT is a neo-communist organisation and I would never sign a contract with that crap. Fees are way too high and service is below average. Aren't there any specialised forums in your region? I always try to find unlimited plans even when the speed would be (or is) restricted. As long as the speed stays acceptable (for instance when streaming video) I can live with it. Anyway I'm forced to limit my speeds in all my download programs, because I run out of disk space too quickly. |

For information about competing ISPs, you can check "www.northwalesindex.co.uk/pages/29.html". Also check for related sites using Google or Alexa. You can also search for "Internet Services" in "www.wales-biz.co.uk". These are both for local companies, rather than BT.
You can also search for "north wales" "internet service" -PA -pennsylvania ------------------------- When you say that your connection speed is 8meg, if that is the stated speed from O2, then it probably says "up to 8Mbps". This is especially true with DSL. DSL speeds depend on the length and quality of wiring between your location and the office with the DSL server equipment. What is most useful is to use a site like speedtest.net. There is approximately a 10% overhead on internet data, so your transfer speed is slowed by that amount. Speedtest shows actual transfer speeds by transferring large files. To convert to KBytes/second, multiply by 128 (6.5 Mbps = 830 KBps - my 161 KBps = 1.26 Mbps). |
