Thanks for your reply.

Yes, why don't you try it?

If the board search doesn't return any results you can also use an external search engine and include site:http://board.jdownloader.org/ ("site:"-syntax depends on the search engine) and "Deutscher Support" in your search criteria.

i wonder a bit, why there is no response from the developers on this platform independent problem. a few operating systems can avoid a total crash of the system but it can't be said often enough that in older systems like windows XP this bug can cause harm to the filesystem or even to the hardware.

that problem should be taken serious.

The developers are mostly programmers and they prefer programming. If lots of people are complaining about a particular problem and they can see a pattern in its cause, they will be able to remedy the problem. If there is no pattern or the problem clearly is a caused by bad security software configuration or other customer related problem, then they won't react. Be sure they care about their brain child and they'll do what's best for the software they're developing.

Note that I'm not sure this is a platform independent problem. Do you infer this from the fact that Java is platform independent or a Linux customer accidentally posting in a thread called "Jdownloader constantly crashes in Windows 7"?

I think posters in this thread wrote about a jD crash. Could you point to the post in this thread that indicates the whole system has crashed? Thanks in advance for guiding me.

None of the posters in this thread follows the rules for providing logs. Please, read my instructions again and very carefully.

Look here for logging instructions.

i'm also not sure, that it's a platform independent problem, but i assume that it is one.

links to similar problems:
Win XP
Win 7
Linux Debian

by the way: if system crashes the log is gone...

i don't use jdownloader any more because my hole systen (xp pro) always crashed.

This isn't a crash, so it's not similar.

No, not true. Why do you think your last case has a log?

Thats wise. I think your XP system has become unstable. You should find out why and solve this first. jD never crashes; only the JRE can crash. The cause of the JRE crashes can be an unstable OS or an unstable non-java application.

When the problem with your OS crashes is solved, detailed logs might explain the reasons of your crashes. Start jD with the following commands in a command window and it will produce logs :-

cd %your jd directory%
java.exe -verbose -jar -Xmx512m JDownloader.jar -debug 2>errlog.txt >log.txt

Archive (zip, rar, etc.) the log files that you'll find in your jD directory and attach the archive to your post.

You're using the JRE 1.6.0_18. Could you please try with the previous JRE 1.6.0_17?

Hm, only 1.6.0_15 available. JD is running about half an hour, still no crashes. But switching back is no solution in perpetuity.

Meanwhile, here are two logs, generated with

Code:
java -verbose -jar -Xmx512m JDownloader.jar -debug 2>errlog.txt >log.txt
Attached Files
File Type: rar log_debug.rar (91.2 KB, 349 views)

I was having the same problem, it went from crashing very sporadically to crashing almost instantly. I added the exceptions and also moved it to a different directory and everything appears to be functioning well now.

Default Jdowloader Problems in Win7

I have operating system win7 32 bit. During the use of Jdownloader, if there is no other activity in my PC, either a) the system crashes and the attached message appears after the recovery, or b) the system loses the internet connection and I have to restart it. During the log off the system loses the screen resolution (from max 1280 X 1024 becomes min 800 X 600)

JDownloader cannot do this. It is a Java program.

Read and follow the General Bugreport rules.

(Please test after each step below)

1) Please make sure you have tested for viruses and rootkits.

2) Make sure you have applied the Required Patch (restart your computer)

3) Change to a safer version of Java (restart your computer)

4) Make sure your Antivirus or other Security software is not the problem.

5) To determine what is doing this, install an IDS (such as pctools.com ThreatFire) in addition to a good antivirus.

6) If all of the above steps fail to solve the problem, Post an Emergency Log

Hi,
my problem is pretty much the same. a few days ago I installed win 7 and since then I started having problems with the download speed and the software itself.
I use to download at 600-800 kb/sec; now the download speed is 400kb/s and the software crashes every time I download more than 4/5 files together. I use AVG as antivirus(previously I had Kaspersky)and I changed the directory. I really don't know what to do.
My girlfriend, who I share the megaupload premium account with, doesn't have any problems.

any ideas?

thank you!

(Languange corrections are well accepted! )

I just want to share my experience about JD crash in W7.
Just installed W7 today. Had the same crash problem immediately.
Solved by changing Power Options in Control Panel (sleep mode:never)

I don't know that would help you guys..

Can you please show one of your hs_err files? This allows to relate cause and effect.

Yes. Java crashes with :-

- Problematic frame: # C [awt.dll+0xb7180]
- OS: Windows 7 Build 7601 Service Pack 1
- JRE (1.6.0_27-b07)

can be solved by changing Power Options in Control Panel (sleep mode:never).
