1. In Finder, select the JD app.

3. Check "Open in 32-bit mode"

Previously I had disabled all plugins I didn't use, but that didn't resolve the freezing.

I'm on OSX 10.6.8 with a MacPro1.1.

Hi everyone.
I aint used to post in forums, but i've been having the same freezing problem as everyone since 3/4 days.

macOS 10.6.8 , java 1.6.0_65

i dont know why nobody answered to DV79 , but for me it worked perfectly : JD has been running for hours now.

Thanks Man.

I'm on OS X 10.6.8 too and your trick seems to be working fine so far. Thanks a lot.

So those that have blocked there JD updates or what ever, you will need to revert the trickery.

run jdupdate.jar

please give feedback.

raztoki
Things seem to be working perfectly after running jdupdate.jar. 32 bit mode unchecked, updates enabled... and JDownloader smooth as it used to be.
Thank you raztoki.

Yeah well. Thanks to everybody involved, for this quick fix and bringing jD back to us...
Makes you wonder during TWO days how is it possible to do without jD... There simply is no way. jD is the best!

thx raztoki for the detailed explanation and background.

also thx to dv79 for the 32-bit fix. that seems to have solved my issues w/Nightly. i have disabled Updates for the time being and will see how it goes. i'm only interested in a few hosters anyway, so unless/until they stop working i don't see a need to update. as kurosawa said, "ikimono no kiroku."
