you are not alone, had the same problems the last couple of weeks and downgraded java 7 days ago. worked fine until today when i updated jdownloader (version 0.9.581). it freezes when i´m grabbing links.
i use java version 1.6.0_45 now. i had more problems with 1.6.0_51.
i am so frustrated.

Same issue for me too.
Everything was ok until the latest updates of JD.
Before it works solid even with the new Java update 2013-005.
I'm on Mountain Lion 10.8.5

i will try jd 2 beta and then switch to another app that is better.

why do they make such crap updates? it also seems that jd has massive memory leaks on mac.

Hi there,
same problem here:
Snowleopard server (mac mini): 10.6.8 (have to stay on 10.6.8 fpr the server)
Java: 1.6.0:65
Jdownloader:0.9.581

Jdownloader is stopping either in linkgrabber, download, or any other actions after 5 - 10 minutes.
I wasn't able to update to Java 7 and JD2 (is that even possible for snowleopard?)
and i havent found a installable version of java 1.6.0:45 ( would it be possible that someone could provide a link? apple redirects everything to their latetest Version.

Any help or direction would be very great, right now jdownloader is more or less unusuable.

Best Regards
Linus

Hi there
I'm having the same problem as everyone else, was working perfectly fine until the recent JD update. It freezes when trying safelinking and if I don't keep an eye on it, it will freeze and won't show me anything, I then have to do a force exit and restart hoping my downloads are still where they were both it froze.
Would this be fixed soon, as it's really annoying, I haven't recently updated my Mac to the new update.
Does anyone know of another download place I can use until this gets fixed? thanks
Many thanks

There's one Java update Java 7u45 which solved my issues with JD. Link http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/ja...s-1880261.html

Mac OS X x64 50.61 MB jre-7u45-macosx-x64.dmg

Hope you can solve your problems.

Hi Pulsar,
Java 7 is for Lion/Mountain Lion and not for Snowleopard, therefore not possible to install at least for me.

I add my name to the list
(OS 10.6.8 -last09- 0.9.581 java 1.6.0_65-b14-462)
had no problems before last nights update
had already updated to latest java without problems (jd prior update)
problems only started "after" jd update
could you please make prior jd version available for dl
version -last09- 0.9.581 is the problem not java 1.6.0_65-b14-462 as jd (prior) was working perfectly (as it usually does).

thanx

hi,

although on PC, I sympathize with you guys and make the same remarques as above.

my java is 1.6.23 but I never had a problem until yesterday and now JD freezes at the beginning screen after the update. And now, after a fresh uninstall/reinstall, without any update, it starts but it doesn't read correctly my previous .jdc files and doesn't find any url of any new copied links...

jD freezes after the last 0.9.581 updates.
Went back to a backup done right before update and everything is fine again.
No problem with Java before 0.9.581 or after downgrade.

OS 10.6.8 | Java 1.6.0_51.
Cheers.

The same thing happened to me this morning

Seems kind of odd to break the last stable release.

I'm also on 10.6.8 and Java 1.6.0_65

Since JD was freezing, I ran Software Update, and saw there was a Java update, which I installed.

Apparently, Java 7 is only available on an "Intel-based Mac running Mac OS X 10.7.3 (Lion) or later".

It still didn't work.

So I downloaded JD2. The installer appears to install a new runtime environment, then it says it will take me to install4j wizard, and then nothing. I can't seem to find it on my hard drive either.

What are the system requirements for JD2? Oddly, there is nothing on the main download page. I've tried searching here, but still can't find it.
